What did the '60s do to the world?

Or, do you think that the "psychedelic revolution" is just an illusion, and that consumption of psychedelics was just incidental to a cultural revolution already in full swing?

Such a large percentage of Americans being under 30 in the 1960s thanks to the baby boom was always going to lead to cultural change. As was the unprecedented prosperity created by the post-war boom. LSD obviously had an impact - how big an impact is obviously highly debatable - but I personally dont think things would have been that different without it.

If a big counter-culture movement was occurring in the 1980s then mdma would have been praised or condemned (depending on peoples point of view) as the cause
 
I think you're forgetting the part you played in any change you underwent galactic. I agree that if you're the kind of person willing and able to change already then psychedelics can help.

Indeed, you definitely have to be willing to change. I think people will eventually realize how much they're being manipulated though. They can only delude themselves for so long.
