I just recieved my kit and I tested a pill and the color of the fluid coming out of the bottle was yellowish. Is this normal? I watched the reaction videos on the site and it appears that the color is clear coming out. I purchased the EZ test.

i'm sorry. i'm just new to this and I realized that as soon as the fluid hit the powder it changed color. I put a little on a plate with no powder on it and it stayed clear. Anyway, my friend recieved this pill and it comes up as highlighter yellow. any ideal what this is. the chart points to 2cb like, but my friend thinks it's acid. is that possible?

Yellow ?
It could be anything....
NOT to purple/almost black -> NOT an Ecstasy like substance (mdma, mdea, mda)

Still haven't answered the ? aj. Should the reagent be clear? Mine has turned a bit brownish. Not real dark. But definately tinted. Still seems to work, but a little slower.

Brown reagent is spoiled reagent; left out uncapped or a bad seal and got exposed to air for a long time. Still works for identifying MDXX substances; but makes it harder for speed-like.

The browning colour is an inevitable consequence of storage of the Marquis reagent. In actual fact, it is normally prepared FRESH for use in the laboratory. You can slow down the browning by putting it in the fridge. If it gets to a 'light beer' colour, I'd definitely throw it away and get another one (You can oder one from Chemical Generation through The-peak.com.au for AUD20+GST).
Whilst it will still give a purple/black reaction for MDxx when it is slightly brown, you are losing the selectivity, and open yourself up to having even more purple/black reactions when there's no MDxx.
As for the yellow colour, it could be any number of substances. If you contact me at Chemical Generation, we will send you a FREE sample of E2, which may help to shed some light on it, if only for interest sake (ie knowing what is being pushed as E). I definitely wouldn't take that pill!
