Yea he is some brilliant chemist who got stuck working in a high school and when he gets diagnosed with terminal cancer, he decides to look up an ex druggie student of his cause he wants to start cooking. So knowing he isnt going to be around to support his family, he wants to do a few batches so his family can be ok financially. its such a great show. i hope it comes back.
