What can sniffer dogs smell?

If the dogs are so well trained etc. etc. wont they be able to smell the trace of pills on your hand??? (assuming you've handled it)
So wouldnt that make wrapping in glad wrap and stuff pretty useless seeing as you go and touch it in the process...

I don't believe I reading some of this stuff. There is a lot of 'I heard that...' . Do a search in Other Drugs on sniffer dogs. It has been covered there many times in the past.
Dogs have an amazing sense of smell. If they have been trained to react to it, they *will* smell it.

So im assuming its the safrole in the MDMA that can be smelt but the ACTUAl MDMA in and of itself is odourless.
Why is it then that I can be given a bag of 'pure' MDMA and it smells nothing like licorice. An M-Cap I had once I opened up and crushed up with one of the afore mentioned BB's and neither nor the finished product tasted, resembled, smelt like licorice.
WAS it lab cleaned...hmm food for thought, where is our 'illegal' MDMA coming from?
The only thing ive done that i recall thinking smelt like licorice was some really brown heroin and a batch of GHB that im guessing was GHB-OH...
Im confused now. regarding the links they werent net resources but ive got a mid-ninties leaflet from sydney saying that MDMA is a "colourless, odourless, liquid/powder"... most probly dated but i thought id throw it in cos ive been of the opinion that E in its pure pure form doesnt smell.
Im sure youd assume that safrole would make MDMA reek, in much the same way that you'd assume all human beings would stink of shit if the only human you ever met was covered in shit.
unm.. cant really put it any other way.

MDMA powder has an extremely pungent smell. In large amounts, it can be easily smelt outside the baggie. The smell is very saffrole/aniseed based, in line with the familiar "MDMA taste" you get in your mouth or back of your throat.
Whether this smell/taste is from the synth, or cleaning/purification processes is irrelevant - that is how you get it on the street in powder and pill form. It is not odourless, matter of fact it fuckin reeks. As a guide, its probably better to get your info from the horse's mouth rather than from mid 90's info booklets.

Actually I get my info from a number of sources, I happen to mention that this was ONE of them... Do you assume that everytime I want to find a good cheesecake recipe for example, I go running to the nearest shop and BEG them for any left over mid-nineties leaflets?
