What can i say to you
That you do not already know?
That it takes fifteen minutes and 42 seconds
to get to the gate of my house
Braving the weekdays rush hour traffic
Whenever you come to visit me after work
Or that I am allergic to aspirin
And flare up like a pufferfish
When i accidentally take a Midol
instead of paracetamol for my cramps
That i like salt more than sugar
and am not really fond of chocolate
like other girls are wont to be
What can i say to you
That you do not already know
That i only wear your humongous tshirts
when i am lounging around barefoot at home
Or that i cannot sleep soundly
Unless i am wearing your favorite puma shirt
So comfy and faded, your smell lulling me to sleep
Or that i can drink gallons of dr pepper
And I like my martinis dirty, and my long islands nasty
And about the time I got sick trying to outdrink you
One fine happy hour afternoon
When you double dared me....
What can i say to you
That you do not already know?
That the first thing i do when i wake up
Is light meself a strawberry cigarette
And kiss you....depending of course if u are beside me
In which case i kiss and embrace you before anything else
And that i hate dancing, and cannnot dance for the life of me
Yet you insist on dragging me to the floor the few times we are out
Teasing and cajoling, as i hem and haw and blush.
Or that my family means the world to me
And i love yours just as much as my own
And would probably kill for my loved ones if need be.
What can i say to you
That you do not already know?
Such as every little innocuous thing
that moves me....
Like playing with children, hearing my favorite Cure song
Random acts of compassion, or a really sad movie
That has me bursting into fits of giggles
Or dissolving into silent tears.
Or that i type 82 wpm, amongst other skills
And that i read instead of watch tv when in my room
Or the fact that i laugh way too loud and too often
So that you can usually tell where i am
In a crowded room just by my voice
What can i say to you
That you do not already know?
That i love being hugged and touched
As much as possible each time we are together
And that I panic sometimes when i cannot feel ur warmth
That all the letters and cards you give me
Mean SO much more than all the bouquets
And the baubles you gift me with during special occassions
Or that your phonecalls, all your messages
And constant updates whenever we are apart
Reassure me of your love MORE than anything material
you have ever gifted me with
And that all the small things you do for me
Will never leave my heart nor my memory
