If there's already a thread like this I apologize. I did a basic search and didn't find anything recent, but I'm lazy. Close, merge, or thrash at your whim, NEMD mods.

What band that has broken up do you miss the most? I'm aiming more for more recent bands than things like "The Beatles" or something.

For me the big ones I miss are:

Luxt -- great triphop/hardcore music. Check out "Death," "Megaplex," and "Life is Pain" if you find them anywhere online. Also, their lead singer sang on a Velvet Acid Christ song called "Slut" that is pure quality.

Nightwish -- I know they're not broken up, but it doesn't feel the same without Tarja Turunen.

A Perfect Circle -- Although they claim they're just on hiatus right now and that new material is a possibility.

Who else out there has a favorite that they're going to miss hearing new material from?

Neutral Milk Hotel.

Also the Olivia Tremor Control, but I could do without Bill Doss's contributions and get by with a new Circulatory System album, whenever that happens.

I actually had both of these bands on my mind the other day when I cropped my new avatar. Mostly I think I was just lamenting over having missed the Holiday Surprise tour. :(

Agreed on Mr. Bungle. Also, I thought of Snake River Conspiracy earlier. Such an amazing band. Hard to imagine their keyboardist was in Third Eye Blind!

1. Mansun
2. Suede (although they had pretty much ran their course by the end)
3. The Stone Roses
4. The La's (technically not broken up I expect Duke Nukem Forever to come out before a new La's album)
5. The Sundays (see #4)

Yeah Pantera for sure. It really sucked because they were one of those bands where the members had their disagreements, but you knew they'd work it out some day and get back together. Then it happened :(

Other than that I would have said RATM and Phish, but they both came around in the past year. String Cheese I guess, but they'll probably be back in the next few years too.
