What are you watching right now?

My partner in crime and myself have been watching this show called ¨To Cook a Bear¨. If you´re in the United States, it´s on Hulu. It´s a Swedish show dubbed in English. It takes place in the 1800´s. It´s a Lutheran Pastor and his Saami foster son who act as detectives on the side. In the Season we watched, they´ve just gotten to a remote village where girls are being assaulted and murdered. It´s done in a ¨noir¨ style which I love. I´d check that out if you´re into period pieces/crime stuff!

I thought we were in the horror movie thread. I've been trying to find a new show on Hulu that's horror if anyone has ideas. But like @fuckabout89 was saying I doubt they would fill my morbid curiosity.

Now Criminal Minds however, Ive seen every episode and I love the show. Gets repetitive eventually but that's only because ive watched it for 227 hours (says AI)

As requested! Fun fact, if you ever watched the show ¨Vikings¨ on History Channel, the actor who plays the main character (the pastor) was also Floki! :)

So let's make this like we go back to 7th grade! literature hour!

It's a middle road between slow-burn/fast paced, and it does a excellent job while at it, I can say this much, it's has flavourous shots and you can see some trying from the camera crew, it misses some but for 60% of the time they present the actual thing while making sure all the details fit in and can either make the viewer wonder something parallel with the film or just with the culture of the world, this film, tries to portray. Apparently, it's adapted from a manga series written 33years ago and the film it's from 2017, and it was transformed into a film by these dudes just 24 years later, what a fun life, eh. It doesn't have much teachings but uh, I feel like, if you're a teen.. and you try to see how this Samurai world looks into an alternative semi-sf area, you could potentially learn something, and that is... that people did really belive in cults back a few hundreds years ago, as much as they do now in some parts of the world.

anyway.. it's fun and doesn't try to be what it isn't, it's natural as what naturality can be.. the main actor, you can see him above, the dude could very well play Scorpion in the near future, or star in feudal/ancient Japan roles, I could see him teaching some big-money-hungry japanese names, that are found in the American hollywood, some acting, and basic day-to-day talk, and basically that's it for this film. I'd rate it at a stable 6.8

this film made me appreciate the patience it took to shot the lone wolf & cub series, that really was a piece of art. Again, none of these two connect to eachother, but I was simply stating that... it requires some valuable knowledge to try and present your directional art in this zone. Japanese samurai culture isn't for those weak of stomach or weak of angel, it is made to be brutal/raw and sad, and that is because of how depressing life used to be in that cronology timeframe.

I've rented it from Prime, and I had lots of fun while watching. Sure maybe.. it could had been cheaper with about 1.5EUR but it was ok, also even more so, since I was also busy talking to a client from time to time and in the meantime I was also looking to entertain myself when possible.

reminds me to maybe have some people raise some awareness, of how, some films/series/docs should be a lot cheaper than their. Prime it's a sort of universal database of major hobbies around the world, it has a lot of films/series that can be found on other streaming platforms too, and because of that, it makes it a perfect way to pay monthly for something where you can gain access to 95% of the main distractions out in the wilds, but more than 98% of their catalogue should be much cheaper than it is, not to mention, the rent thing which sounds fun at first but it's tricky, if you don't catch by the tail.
