What are you thankful for?

You mean the ones we evolved from from inbreeding?

What about if China decided to occupy America, slaughter Americans and destroy their culture.. to then celebrate it..

Your analogy is fail on so many levels.

Ok....Just what do you call slaughting an entire group of people for being American?

Dont know about you but I call it Genocide.
Keep spinning.....

I thought the thread was about being thankful.

I was hoping to read a few things that were uplifting.

Instead, I'm reading people just yelling to hear themselves yell.

I'm not thankful, then. fuck it.

Well the pilgrims did get in to a few hairy scrapes with the natives now, didn't they? I didn't say they slaughtered them for being American or any other reason. Wow.. 2 in the other thread, 2 in the PM and now 2 here. You're on fire.

I am thankful for the ability to use and understand logic, for rationality and for having my level of intelligence (although i would like it to be off the scale high)..

I'd also like to thank methohoosits for making me so thankful for these things.

Be realistic. I know they've got numbers but we've got a big ocean on either side of us. We've also got, so far, a much better Navy and Air Force. And it isn't as if any of their soldiers have any real world experience.

Way back in the day, if Ghengis Kahn (I know Mongol but) had conquered and settled Europe- If the Muslims had conquered the British Isles if they hadn't been stopped in Austria, and celebrated their conquest, I think it would be understandable.

I also don't think Thanksgiving is really about conquering the Indians or Australia Day about fucking the indigenous people up there, really... So there is that.

Another failed attempt to explain a failed anology.
You used China deciding to kill all Americans and celebrating it.
To compare it to the pilgrims and what ultimately ended up happening at hands of others
Again pilgrims didnt have secret plans of genocide-
They just wanted freedom to practice their religion.
❌ FAIL

I'm sorry i see where the confusion is.. My bad..

My post should have read: What if China decided to occupy China, which led to the slaughter of Americans and destruction of culture.

Carful with those.
I mean you got a handle you got a handle,
but they can grab you by balls quick.
I wouldnt wish that habit on worse enemy

Nah I'm fine I have a job in which im subject to random drug tests which there is no way in hell i'm going to risk it..

Plus i don't even really rate them..

Concern is appreciated though <3

Yeah opiates are a sneaky succubus, I think anyone who has had problems with opiates can't help but warn others, myself included.

There are a few... just enjoy those and ignore the arguing. :)

You got to be thankful for freedom of speech tho.
Many many many people have died to
give me right to express my opinion without persecution.......
Hey, wasnt that what the pilgrims were after to begin with?
IM thank for my dog KoKo.
She will be like 80 or 90 in dog years on her next
birthday. Mans best friend.

Especially thankful lately that I have an amazing family, knowing how rare it is in this day and age. They support me unconditionally and have shown me more love and patience than I deserve.

Talk about a failed anology....

I submit your anlogy is trying to take place now tho. Only substite the state of the Caliphate for China. If this happens are the peafeful muslims here in America that denounce such behavior guilty as well?
The difference with your anology is the Euros that came to America had no idea of other humans were even in America.
In the eyes of the law they showed no intent of harm,
however your anology does show intent. Guilt by association is a very scary concept.
The pilgrims included the native americans in their first feast to celebrate and give thanks for their first successful harvest. It was a succesful mix of two culteres, which we should all take a lesson from!!
Thats where the holiday's celebration comes from.
They cant help their first holiday's celebration gets bastardized by the guilt of the politically correct.
No more can they be responsible for what happned at the hands of other evil greedy humans.
Its not like the piligrims executed some diabolical scheme by putting roofies in the food of native americans causing them to end up in a casino on a reservation in the desert via the trail of tears.
The pilgrims weren't fortune tellers. They had no crystal ball, and no secret alternative plan.
If you want to denounce the atrocities suffered by native americans you got a 364 (365 depending on year) to do you complaining.
With flawed logic such as this, we could never celebrate anything.
In my opinion that is.......

The English, who colonized most of the U.S, did in fact know that people inhabited the land when they came. So, we came over here, slaughtered tens of thousands of Native Americans in an attempt to move West, and justified it with "God told us so".

Edit: I'm thankful for my loving friends and family, more than anything.

Thankful that I have food to eat when I see so many around me that don't.

My family now volunteers at food pantry/soup kitchen every thanksgiving and it's made me appreciate that on a whole new level. I also volunteer at other times but it's different this time of year, it seems that more families turn up for food compared to other times.

I think the loss in translation is where I was translating a failed anology.
I didnt mean first Euros and Pilgrims to be the same.
In refrence to the anology China would be Europeans as a governing body.
Pilgrims were of European descent, but had seperated themselves from Europe.
When you seperate and go the other direction of a repressive government , you are no longer part of that Nation. ie denouncing citizenship
Like I said, guilt by associqtion of nationality or ethnicity is a very disturbing conscept in general.
Like rounding up the Japense Americans during WW2 and putting them in camps or all muslims in America today because of the nutz in mid-east.
Or
all black people who participate in protest in Ferguson.
Its really no different than what was done to the Native Americans.
Just on a smaller scale.

Thankful for Jesus
