What are you prescribed?

Not open for further replies.
up to 8, 50mg Ultrams for pain
4-6, 10/650 Hydrocodones for pain
3 100mg neurontins for nerve pain
1 50 mg zoloft to stimulate seratonin for help sleeping (dr.s theory is that when you stress over pain that your seratonin levels drop and make it hard to sleep)
Ortho novum, Birth control

Need ultram, need hydro most of the time, dont take the neurontin too often but it does work wonders when I do need it, not sure if i need the zoloft-- not sure if it really helps or not, totally sure i need orthor novum.. take ultram and hydro recreationally frequently too.

It's a good thing this isn't a "what drugs have you been prescribed, cos then this would read like a drug dictionary! :D

What are you drugs prescribed?

Prothiaden (dothiepin, a tricyclic AD) 150mg at night
Seroquel (quetiapine, antipsychotic) 3-400mg PRN daily
Valium (reducing dose, aim to be off it by March 04) currently 30mg/day
Buprenorphine (originally to help get off codeine, now probably the most effective weapon I have against anxiety/depression) - 24mg/day
Mogadon (nitrazepam) - again, cutting down.. now taking ~2mg at night)

That's a very short list compared to 6 months ago, so I must be getting better :)

Why are you prescribed this particular drug?

Prothiaden - depression (dysthymia would be a better description) & sleep problems/anxiety

Seroquel - anxiety

Valium - substitute for xanax & to get me off benzos - anxiety, obviously

Buprenorphine - already said above!

Mogadon - chronic insomnia, usually rotate between it and stilnox/ambien as tolerance becomes a problem

Do you really need this drug, or are you just faking it for recreation sake?

I need the whole lot of 'em at the moment.. I'll be on bupe indefinitely if I get my way (which looks likely), and I'm gradually phasing out the benzos.

I was taking methadone, but it had some very bad side effects that my body couldn't handle, at first I thought I was just adjusting to it, But my doctor said it was more like an allergic reaction. Was having hallucinations, It made me sleep for like 20 hours out of the day, I would fall asleep at the computer, at the table, in the car, almost trying to drive, and basically anywhere else that I was or went or wanted to go. Went to universal studios and feel asleep on a ride, My brother had to wake me up!!! Went to Wal-Mart and sat down on a bench and was asleep for 6 hours!! So My doctor took me off of that!!! But for once in like 5 years I didn't feel much pain.. But he took real good care of me when I last went to my pain management doctor!!

Currently I am taking: (NEED ALL OF THIS. NONE FOR RECREATIONAL USE)

80mgs Oxycontin twice a day.

800mcg actiq For breakthrough pain. 3 times a day.

2mg Klonipin three times a day, for anxiety.

350mg Soma three times a day, for muscle spasms.

Peace Out,
ChronicPAIN.

Well considering that I have just had my third back operation in two and a half years.(Why I have been gone so long).. I'd say Yea. and the fact that I have a very advanced form of degenerative disc disease and will probably have another 100 operations over my life.. I'd say yea I am one stressed out motherfucker.

Peace out,

ChronicPain.

currently every month I am prescribed :
120 5mg desoxyn, Prescribed for sleep j/k...Its for adhd
15 .25mg halcion, this is for insomnia and nighttime anxiety that goes with it.

I will admit that every once and a while they are used recreationally but 98% of the time its used as needed ( and normally less then I am prescribed to take.) The crazy part is desoxyn I find to have much less side effects then all the other add meds I have tried.

I have been thru : ritalin, dexadrine, aderall, trazadone, ambien, sonata, lorazapam. and once a pharmacy error of a bottle of 60 oc 10's :) got to love doctors handwriting!!

RX:

When I was in high school I got some shrink to write me a script for Dexedrine. I'm still on it! (Adult ADD, he he)

So, what was the RX supposed to be for, that the pharmacists mistook it for OC 10's?

I take 1.5mg Ativan daily
supposed to take 150mg of Zoloft and 400mg of Neurontin
Ativan is both recreational and medicinal.
SSRI's and anti-convulsants aren't my style.

Prescribed:
Oxy IR- 10-15 mg 3-4 times per day as needed for pain

Amitriptyline- 30 mg at bedtime for sleep

Compazine- 10 mg for nausea from pain as needed

Neurontin- 400 mg 3x/Day (Titrating up)

I need the medicine. I have nerve damage in my shoulder. The Oxy IR is damn fun though.

Noumena

For being half man, half machine, I take:

1)Oxy 80's x2 daily
2)Oxy 40's x1
3)Oxy 20's x1

My ambition right now is to be a test subject for the new Paladone drug from Purdue!

Man my contribution seems pretty weak compared to the previous posts but I get Tramadol 200mg slow release, 60 tabs a month. The idea being take 2 a day. As a painreliever for which it is prescribed, it works well for my pain condition. Recreationally, its not all that great but its better than nothing.

On occasion I get some benzos for anxiety, the last of which was some oxazepam 15mg. They are shit and I got a rank hangover from em too. Ahh well beggers cant be choosers I say.

I'm not technically prescribed to it, but I have a sample pack of 0.5 mg clonazapam for as needed anxiety

And I am really prescribed to Protonix for acid reflux

Oxycontin 40mgs 3x daily and Oxy IR 5mgs x4 5x daily....needed for the pain caused by Ankylosing Spondilitis

I just got 100mg Wellbutrins...for depression. We'll see how this works out...

On a sidenote, I mentioned possibly being ADD to my psychiatrist, and he pretty much said, "Oh, that's just a scam made up by pharmaceutical companies to sell more drugs." Now what am I going to do, because I really feel that I am... *sigh*

Find another doctor, there are plenty who specalize in A.D.D. Check with your insurance company and see if they can cover it.

Prescribed Adderall XR 20mg once in the morning. .5mg Klonopin twice a day. Paxil CR 12.5mg once before bedtime.

-Vicoprofin 7.5/200
-Sonata 10mg
Back pain & sleeplessness. Both are real. Most other things I've tried don't touch the back, although there's some concern about losing my script eventually or getting too big a tolerance. Most sleeping pills only knock me out for about 4-5 hours.

In response by villian: "You have a smart psychiatrist."

I agree. Although I have been diagnosed with ADD, I really don't believe that my symptoms, or "defects", should be labeled as a mental disorder which requires stimulant medication. Some kids are just more hyperactive than others and have a harder time concentrating, is that reaon enough o label such it a disorder? I don't think so. I feel much more myself not taking meds for it, as well as happier. I accept that I'm just "intellectualy slow" or "less focused than some", whatever you want to refer it to. I think that prescribing stimulant medication is a scam to keep people in line, without putting their emotinal stability in consideration. Have you ever noticed that prescription info for stimulants list that those who suffer emotional disorders such as anxiety or depression, should not be prescribed stimulants, but yet doctors rarely put into consideration.
