Not actually eaten within the last 12h or so but exciting enough (for me) to be worth a mention... Beef Wellington. Only a Co-Op "quite expensive" version thereof but still the only time have eaten such thing. Was surprisingly lushy under the circumstance. If that's how beef is meant to taste then I now like beef more than I previously did. Tender? Apparently cowslab can be. Yum <3
 
I finally made that egg and toast, turned it into a sandwich with ketchup and mayo too, was super tasty, was a while ago now though, getting addicted to bluelight again with this time off work and the new keyboard and I'm being a super mega post whore.

Want more foods, I think if I can borrow a flatmates baking tray today I will make flapjacks as I'm feeling in the mood to do stuff today, well, that is if I can drag myself away from the keyboard again.
 
Hmmmm, it's harder than you think to photograph a plate of food...here's what I'm having tonight, missis is on one of her totally unnecessary diets she goes on every month or two to make sure she never gets more than 3 lbs above organ failure, so i got a week of cooking for meself all the things she's not too keen on....

only just got me camera back working again.. :D

can't get the colour saturation that you manage, and maybe need a tray to frame the plate beter like you've done..

Also my meal is lacking in variety of colour, unlike anything you produce ;)

in the mood for a pack of oreos or crunch creams or something. but fuck that, aint ruining the effort n healthy eating put in today. wanna be like one of those skinny people who cant put on weight or whatever, thatd be golden, id stuff my face
 
Pumpkin soup with bread AND pizza for breakfast, don't know what the fuck I was thinking eating so much. I feel sick now.
 
I have been taking a pic of my dinner plate all week, well apart from Wed 'cause I was in a mood... yes, I know it's weird. However, it has made me "look" at what i eat differently. It's not bad, but could be better, we eat a lot of veg. I'm such a traditional cook tho'.

Tonight it was smoked salmon and broccoli quiche (divine) with spinach salad and tiny tatties grown by me. Only got some home grown cabbage left and that's it the plot is bare ready for the new season's produce.

Must get more pics up.
 
Nowt of note tonight (pepperoni stuffed crust generic pizza if yer must know) but did have notable nosh yesterday. Notable by my standards anyway. Was curry (murgh...? butter chicken sans chicken anyway) with salmon, cod, smoked haddock and scallops. The latter was the notable bit. Never had 'em before. Bloody lovely so they were. Overcooked admittedly (bit soggy) but proper lushy. Not really sure what to do with such things really so ended up bunged in with other fishinesses inna curry.

I cannot (well actually I can) believe you put scallops in a curry. Scallops are delicate, ozone, sweetmeat, unctuous and subtle angel flesh. Texture is all, rubberiness is criminal Sham!!!

Anyhoo glad you enjoyed it. When are we going to try our hand at a virtual cullen skink?
 
Scallops were of the teenytiny (presumably deeply inferior) variety and only a quid cos they were shortdated. Thought they were worth a curry for a quid. As for texture, were actually kinda squishy rather than rubbery. Like most such things they presumably go past rubbery to overtender when massively overcooked?

Cullen skink would be a belter. Being both cheap and skint I tend to only buy fish when it's at buy it or we bin stage but could stretch to a full price bit o' haddock if I know in advance cullen skink is up for grabs. Name yer time, yer place and yer ingredients and I'm there. Fishysoupy <3
