What are you munching on? v. Noodle nights n greedy monkeys

^I think I've tried those.

I'm eating some raspberries cuz the dinner's taking too bloody long. I should probably stop now.

Have just had a couple of slices of pepperoni pizza someone had cooked and not ate, still need something proper though. Might put another pizza on.

^I think I've tried those.

There's something moreish about the rice paper around them.

Made spicy cous cous with mushrooms and tender stem broccoli. Quick, tasty and a lot healthier than scoffing a bag of bunnies :D

I don't think white rabbits don't taste like white chocolate at all lol

You can get them in flavours other than milk, quite partial to the strawberry ones.

Just introduced a Japanese guy to the word of the syrup pudding. He was astounded by how sweet it was haha. Although it was shop bought, I think they're always extra sweet.

^
lol syrup pud.

I'm badly craving sausages and have none :| only a house of bloody fruit and yoghurt and things that need cooked from scratch.

agggghhhh

Nice lunch just now, chicken in breadcrumbs with chopped smoked cheese, spring onions, grated carrot, yellow pepper, mixed salad leaves drizzled with olve oil and sweet chilli dipping sauce. Now a muller rice.

I took that left over butternut soup out of the freezer and tarted it up a bit tonight. Bit of Cream, some additional flavourings and herbs. Left it to a simmer for a while. Tasty stuff indeed! Crusty bread with butter on the side. Felt like the perfect day to have a nice autumn soup.

I had a sunblushed tomato and red onion beef burger earlier on a tortilla wrap with fried onion and yellow pepper topped with tomato & chilli sauce.

Couple of these - but the dark ones.

Delish with a cuppa....Any more than 2 would be so not harm reduction 8)

Oh I quite like those. My mum always gets the plain chocolate ones though, bleurgh. I'm really trying to avoid all things like that at the moment after a couple of slightly over indulgent weeks haha.

Got randomly invited out to someone's house for okonomiyaki last night. Was the first time I tried it and it was pertty good I have to say.

Marmite on toast trip report. [X.O,extra old version]

I awoke early this morning feeling hungry and wearily walked into the kitchen looking for some munch. I suddenly remembered i had purchased a jar of Marmite X.O version which was a jar packaged in a neat little black cardboard box. As everyone else was still in bed ,i thought this would be an ideal opportunity to sample said product.

Being the hardcore guy that i am i decided to go for FOUR slices of Kingsmill white bread. I placed bread in toaster and unscrewed the jar of Marmite.

By this time the sence of anticipation and nervousness was becoming overwhelming,i was slightly shaking.

The toast popped up and i hastily grabbed the Olivio spread from the fridge and frantically applied with knife.I then dipped the knife into the Marmite applying a thick glob to the slice of toast. This was repeated to the other three slices.

Now the real test. I took a huge bite,my mouth started to salivate wildly and my taste buds went into overdrive. A calming sense of euphoric satisfaction swept over me,all was good with the world but no visuals. This became more intense with every bite and i ended up consuming all four slices leaving me satisfied and extremely contented.

Overall,a very pleasant experience. I would say that four slices was rather excessive for a first time trial. Marmite really is a love it or hate it experience, and i would say that the X.O version is for the hardcore only. First timers, use ONE slice only with minimal Marmite application.

I will be stocking up on this. It is currently legal so am getting it in before the inevitable ban. Stay safe.

We had the most amazing Indian takeaway last night, from a new place - the food was very well done. I've just picked at left over tandoori chicken for breakfast there :)

I might waste more money by ordering an indian later, haven't had one forever.

Mmmm I love left over curry for breakfast. I just had left over spag bol for my breakfast. Which technically because of the time was lunch.

I'm cooking a pork shoulder in Cider for tonights dinner. I need to get it in the oven now but I just can't seem to move.

It's a bit tinky but I like leftovers cold 8)

That pork joint sounds lovely - are you planning on doing roast tatties and the sunday dinner works with it?

I have no plans to cook today - lots to pick over and there's sausages there for the man if he so desires :D
