What are you munching on? v. gimmie toblerone n' beetroot

I like kanga, nice meat. Most aussies hate it though, they consider Kangaroo vermin so it's akin to eating a rat for them.

I'm eating...

looks a bit ColtDan, very nice too <3

Halloumi, red pepper, hummus, tomatoes, baby spinach, pasta with pesto and potato salad?

What am I thinking, that's not halloumi, it's some kind of fish.

i'd never eat haloumi, or tuna...

it's turkey breast steaks marinated in lime juice and chilli, romano peppers, rocket from allotment and watercress from greengrocer, tomatoes, dressed with olive oil and balsamic..........and yeah, humus, pesto and pasta salad, and potato salad, all 3 from co-op.

Easy dinner. fuckin tasty.

one handed typing now into me 3rd nectarine, got a new boxful today :D

Looks very tasty MM!

Why would you not eat Halloumi? It's amazing! I've got some in the fridge, time to bring it out.

How come you get things like nectarines and scallops en mass?

do you know a scallop up here costs £1 each :!

Personal bitterness aside lol, your dinner looks lovely there's no need to be prissy about presentation when you have your high quality of produce and prep/ cooking. Delish %)

Why would you not eat Halloumi?

I need a meal based around meat or fish or I feel underfed, undernourished...

I know it's irrational, but it's my way... :(

I'd have haloumi as a snack, possibly even a starter, if there was no smoked pigeon breast or similar on the menu.

I'm on my last bag of 40odd scallops i the freezer now :D

will have to see my mate next week and get another couple of hundred, and a dozen crabs off him for a tenner...

Kate, i can't beleive you find it so hard to find good seafood/fish contacts up there....you MUST know someone in the trade. specially in your job....have you done something horrendous to offend the locals and make them wary of you..?

For a postie you're not half a posh cunt are you. Smoked pigeon breast, oooooh fancy. ;)

Why does haloumi need to replace meat? Have it with meat.

I have a pork chop for tomorrow, what to do with it? Pork chops are boring.

I've been getting away with it without either of them too though kate ;)

dip it in a little flour, then egg, then some paxo stuffng, or better if you can get it, plenty of cracked pepper in the flour and a bit of salt.

you can fry on high heat for a crispy crust, but the chop wont go dry cos it's sealed ina a batter-like casing....

Take the bone off for more even cooking...

I don't think there's any bone in it, could be wrong though. How long do I need to fry it for?

Hmmmm, depends on the quality of the pork, and how thick it's cut, I'd bang it on a high heat for 2 mins to set the crust, turn it over for 2 mins, then about 5 mins each side on a lower heat

edit>>>>if it's one of them thin cut loin chops from the Co-Op, a bit less
