What are you munching on? v. gimmie toblerone n' beetroot

jesus fucking christ i've just put a dozen more of them lidl snails in the oven, for a snack...that'l involve another couple slices bread to mop up the butter /juice....god knowswhat sort of calorie count I've managed today.
this lidl snail thing just needs to cease, quicksmartish

you can have a fuckload of em for free from my garden ... fresh as fuck too. all going for free to a good home
 
do you know...and you know i not squeamish about food...i've never eaten a snail from "outside" :)

these lidl ones are product of morocco and france. I ate lots of snails in spain and Morocco.

We get snails all over our hostas and allotments etc, but I've just never done it. D you have to feed them lettuce for a few days or something tp purge them?

i really should, there's just something holding me back, some misplaced squeamishness.

if you can eat snails, are slugs any good? i seem to remember hugh fearnley-w trying to cook slugs, he ended up making them into fritters or something and found them bit bland/rubbery/unpalatable...can't remember which.

as a veggie, I think snails are possibly at the low end of the spectrum on my list of potential temptations to return to eating critters ;p

the only reason I can see slugs and snails (even garlicy lidl ones) being contemplated seriously as food, is as a way for Ray Mears and Bear Grylis to cock joust in the survival championships. drinking bear piss seems like a more palatable idea than slugs to me tbh ..
 
I too have been nailing calories the last couple of days, but I've been exercising a lot innit? ;) (and drinkgin!)

You do have to purge snails, I'm sure there'll be a guide online, but my Grandad used to collect them from the garden and leave them in a fishtank for a couple of days where they lived on lettuce alone.
 
I had a Subway (chicken and ham sub of the day), then 6 beef skewer kebabs for dinner followed by a northern thai pork burger with sticky rice (in place of the bread).
 
I just finished off a fillet steak with anya potatoes, steamed tenderstem brocolli, tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, red pepper and gravy. Was very tasty but I need to learn to make some sauces, I would have preferred a blue cheese sauce I think.
 
Steak would be good. I'm debating what to have for breakfast (at 3pm in the afternoon) either a fry up, a baked tattie and beans or a maccy dees.
 
Found a weird one that I like: Pasta, Tuna and Pesto. Was running low on the pesto so needed something that bulks it out, tuna seemed to work okay for now.
 
Eww, doesn't sound great. I've just eaten a cheese and avocado toasted sandwich with chilli and black pepper, washed down with a glass of orange juice and it was bloody lovely.
 
It isn't amazing, one of those moments where there is fuck all else in the cupboard. :( Have to say the tuna was better than none as there was a lack of pesto (meaning less than a few teaspoons) but it was a bit dry. Wouldn't recommend it unless more pesto magically made it tasty...But I'm fine for eating the more bland/tasteless foods compared to most it seems.
 
After scoffing a load of sub standard Chinese food last night I have been emptying myself today, not very pleasant!
Stepped on the scales and am down to under 10 and a half stone, I'm approaching the 'Auschwitz look' which I don't want again!!
So gunna get some good food later on :) not hungry in the slightest so far today
 
Peanut butter's good for keeping your weight up. Shit, I keep recommending it on the board which is mad as I only started liking it three months ago, but if you wiki it there's a lot of good stuff in it (not to mention fat) which lead to a special nutritionally-enhanced version being made for famine-stricken countries... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plumpy'nut

Haven't had any in ages but i think i might pop out and get some along with some stodgy white bread and some strong cheddar
now you've got me wanting one :sus:
 
I created a much smaller version a while back while I was off my tits and it was WONDERFUL. Every bite was succulent high calorie wrongness. I reckon he missed a trick by not slamming some ice cream in there too. :D
 
Do you take vitamin and mineral supplements breakcore?

It's bbq weather, definitely is, but I have no meat in lol (apologies to the veggies but I just don't fancy bbq'd tofu stuffed peppers, nut burgers or quorn sausages - it has to be meat grrr :D) haha

Got bloody salad coming out my ears, appears I'm good at something ala gardening :) ...so a nice accompanied for any potential charred meats.

Yeah kate i have them centrum ones, I have been munching on apples and grapes occasionally but just ain't had an appetite
 
It's good you're looking after yourself. My standard emotional crisis management diet is usually cans of Stella consumed by a pond, so you're doing a grand job there!
 
my friend cooked me cookoo sabzi(spelling?) for lunch which is basically tomato omelette Iranian style, it was cooked with untwatted eggs mixed in with the omelette and was very very nice, it looked liek dis:
