On a nice healthy eating kick this week, not only eating well but cut out sugar (unless it's natural in fruit), wheat / gluten, dairy, uneccessary salt and high fat foods and haven't had much "bad" carbs either. Boiled egg then chopped pineapple for breakfast, home made soup or chicken salad for lunch then a nice home cooked tea, i.e. cottage pie, chicken & chorizo casserole, chicken and baked potato and tonight the best of all this spicy as fuck chicken & veg stir fry. Made a paste / sauce up using garlic, chillis, few spices, spring onions, stock and lime juice. Tasty and blew my head off.
 
Chorizo sausage (the freshly cooked kind not the dried, cured stuff), salad leaves, beetroot, peppers, tomato, cucumber, spring onion, jalapenos for lunch then nice big bowl of veggie soup for dinner.
 
Egg mayo in a whole-wheat and oat M&S bridge roll. Pretty hungry, decided not to make a dinner tonight been cooking all week.

Aye they don't batter them, though they'll batter your cholesterol levels. Pure grease nosh..just felt like sickening up there.
 
had a mate and his GF over this eve and cooked up a beef n beamish pie with some home made chips,also did some mash spuds n mustard-mash spuds n spring onions-red onion with brown sugar n balsmic vinegar and leeks with cheese-bacon n onion with a cheese bake.

I need to see photos, or maybe just a diagram, to know what went on in your kitchen. Whatever it was, it sounds complicated. I was with you up to the first helping of mash.

not that complicated but a lot of washing up had to be done.

cooked the beef up last nite with the stout.it also had stock-carrot-onion-leek-celery-salt-pepper-mustard-thyme-bay leave.

i get my pastry from Aldi which makes things easy.after that its nice n easy.
 
That's my problem I HATE washing up!

I think I'm going to start using disposable plates and pans.

Mind you I cook a motherfucker of a pressure-cooker beef stew. I think that's tomorrow's nosh pegged.
 
You need a dishwasher or a wife, or just someone that has small enough feet to get to the kitchen sink!

Oh and pressure cookers rock, they do make a mean stew in very little time

Quoting all of this for truth, except the issue with the kitchen sink isn't the size of my feet but the height of the sink, kitchen furniture is built for people six inches shorter than me - this is the sexism inherent in the system!

I once had a girlfriend who did the dishes but she didn't do them properly. Her failing vision led to bits of food stuck to the crockery after the wash. So I would have to check them after she'd done them, of course her eyesight wasn't so bad that she couldn't see what I was doing, and her pride wouldn't permit this as an ongoing procedure. It was curtains.
