What Are You Munching On? v. Best. Tatties. Ever. <3

Thankfully/sadly I don’t have the food-based restrictions you appear to have. Makes my life easier… and animal’s lives shorter… but that’s a whole can o’ worms I’ll sidestep for now :o
I was a happy carnivore for the better part of three decades and I work as a chef so I still cook meat for other people. Whatever you wanna eat I got you covered

Both myself and Sadie have extensive kitchen work on our CVs so we feel your pain ;)8o=D

We eat a pretty meat-heavy diet I must admit. In my vaguely moral justification I’ll just say we mostly buy from clearance sections so that flesh was literally about to be binned and the nutrients completely wasted.

It’s as close of a defence if carnivorousness as I have… beyond the inherent tastiness of the lil blighters ><

large fish with chips and mushy peas earlier tonight, from a multi-award winning Chippy no less!

light, crispy batter and succulent cod, perfect chips and the best mushy peas ( a true 10/10 for the peas, which is rare as hen's teeth thesedays.)

I found last night that half frozen red grapes taste amazing if you have the weed munchies. The half freezing seems to make them taste like some form of delicious sweet. And the taste is a whole lot more interesting and flavourful this way, it seems to me.

My double chin and stomach will thank me due to the much lower calorie choice of munchie snacks. If I keep going.

I will have some totally frozen ones to try tonight, not sure if they will be better or worse.

Speaking of double chins… tonight was…

Frikken Night
Doing it right
Eating fried chicken
On a frikken night

Homemade fried chicken with herby mash and Cajun spiced, buttered sweetcorn. And gravy, naturally.

Was very tasty but I need to work on my textures cos the breading went a lil gummy as it cooled. Flavour was on point though if I do say so myself =D

Oh, and there was the necessary addition of hot sauce, of course. Trinidad Scorpion on one piece (wonderful flavour, reasonable heat level) and Carolina Reaper on t’other (also very flavourful but good lawdy it’s haaaaawt!!!).

Double chin expansion begins :!

My verdict on completely frozen red grapes is that they are not so good. The flavour seems greatly diminished.

But half freezing seems to enhance the sweetness of the flavour, and the texture is amazing. The only problem is that I can't rememeber how long I put them in the freezer for though, so I may be forever trying to replicate the success of the first attempt.

^^^ Aren't you supposed to put them in drinks instead of ice cubes though ....🍇🫐👍

No, this is whole grapes, not liquidised or anything. Just trying to find a lower calorie and lower fat alternative for those weed munchies attacks.

They really are surprisingly delicious half frozen. I've always found grapes a pretty dull fruit previously, and have rarely bought them much at all before now. But half frozen red grapes are incredibly sweet and delicious.

I suppose that's another thing with fruit, of all types, in that the sweetness and bitterness can vary so much from batch to batch. Maybe the current batch is just especially sweet. I'm not sure.
