Bowl o' beef 'n' veg Madras with an onion bhaji. Made a massive pot o' curry t'other night and is still going strong. Having to eat for lunch as well as dins today due to vastyness of original pot. This is unfortunately the problem when it comes to cooking for one with no freezer: you just end up eating the same thing for days on end. Was - and still is - a bloody good curry but the novelty is starting to wear off I must admit. Heyho. More of the same later... might go wild and have a garlic 'n coriander naan with me dinner serving to help differentiate between meals 8)

Next cookery sesh will involve minced pork cos I've got a pack in the freezer. Not sure what to do with it yet though. Is not summat I cook with often. Quite fancy summat vaguely chinesey... which will no doubt end up with me essentially making some kinda bolognese wiv rice or noodles and a jar of Sharwood's rather than Dolmio and spaghetti though 8)

Epic fajitas

Seeded tortillas
Rump Steak
onions and blackened peppers
Creme Fraiche
spring onions
lettuce
tomotoes
chillis
grated cheese

Better than fajitas out of restaurants. Nom Nom Nom

Fuck me that reads tasty, Swedge <3

Curry was nice (better by the day <3) then felt the need for a chaser so munched a Muller Light choc 'n' orange yoghurt. Is one of those flavours that shouldn't work with yoghurt at all... but does and is lushy <3

Toasted sandwich...

rare roast beef left over from a roast the other day, red leicester, dijon mustard, salt and black pepper...simple as fook, lovely.

Wouldn't have had you down as a Red Leicester man meself, MM. Seems a tad... tame. Unless there's some kinda "proper" Red Leicester that tastes less like orange-coloured rubbery milk I'm unaware of. Is one of those cheeses that just never really appeals these days. That and it's hard to eat without flashbacks of Ken Livingstone's cheese-based advert :|

no, it's orange coloured rubbery milk red leicester from the Co-Op... =D

You're right, wouldn't be my choice of cheese, the boy likes it in sandwiches thoough, and it melts nice in a toasted sandwich.

Ah! That would explain it, Meester Monkey. Is definitely the cheese of choice for the yoof of the nation. And, to be fair, it does make a decent cheese on toast.

In other cheese news, got a coupla those Co-Op cheeses they only sell at Xmas for no discernible reason t'other day. The cheddar with chili and herb was both delish and orange-coloured. And made a truly belting cheese on toast <3

Not opened t'other one yet. Is just salt 'n' pepper cheddar though so nary a hint of orange-colour to be seen. Probably also makes a decent cheese toasty, mind.

being flat out in the kitchen all day, friend of the wife calling over for the night. made from scratch a Chicken madras, a chana and aloo curry and a tarka dahl. going to serve matur pullao ( basmati rice with peas ) nan bread and chips.

About to have a Quorn "Chef's Selection" Smoked Chilli and Lime burger.

These are the finest veggie burgers I've eaten. They actually taste very close to meat, they're thicker than the usual quorn efforts, and they have a good texture.

Pretty, pretty good.

8 slices of

and

.. ..a feast of sorts, my arteries have never felt so firm =D

^^ They actually sound rather tasty, Knock. Am rather partial to Quorny stuffs, me. Don't think I've seen that particular variety but must admit I rarely spend long browsing the pretend meat section. I do know Linda McCartney sossers are on offer at Co-Op at the moment cos I was thinking about buying some to make a sausage stew 'n' dumplings next week. Suspect Quorn works better for burgery t'ings though and do <3 a nice burger every now and then.

In other burger news, last burgers I bought were Bambi Burgers and were fuckin orgasmic. Was expecting 'em to be maybe a tad dry as venison is so lean but the burgers were positively gushing with juiciness and flavour. Not very gamey (barely at all gamey in fact :() but wasn't totally surprised given the widespread suspicion of gamey meat amongst vasty swathes of the British public. In fact, they basically tasted like the tastiest, juciest and just plain bestest top-quality beefburgers I'd ever had the pleasure of. Perhaps a tad disappointing seeing as I was hopeful of a bit more gamey-ness... but they tasted so fuckin delish nary a twinge of disappointment was to be found. The venison sossers aren't bad... but they really are a bit on the dry side so bamburgers ftw <3

I do wish you'd think before posting quotes like that, Knock. I now have that song playing in my head :!:X:!

For dins I did dun munch... more of me madras wiv basmati, hot buttered garlic 'n' coriander naan and an onion bhaji wiv a slosh of sweet chili sauce on the side. Was yum but still have a bit of curry and a bhaji left. And another naan.

sorry :| it is a bit catchy :) I've been mucking about with synthesisers so I've managed to oust the last lingering refrains from my head.

Oh man, can't go wrong with Viennese whirls.

I am eating a pack of ginger nuts I found on my windowsill in honour of Spadey's imminent return. They taste better soft, weirdly.

I bought a counter top oven, £29.99 from Lidl yesterday, after 'only' having an electric ring & a grill & a microwave.

So in theory I could make some biscuits or a cake. I have flour sugar eggs and butter. Or I could just drive to the shop and buy some Dairy Milk.

Or be healthy and eat an orange.
