Sloppy Giuseppe? I'm guessing that'd be Sloppy Joe's Italian cousin. What is it with pizza companies and Sloppy Joe all of a sudden? They don't sell that brand of pizza at the Co-Op here but bought a Chicago Town one with the self-same topping earlier.

Not especially hungry tonight so just had the other one of me bambi burgers. Inna bun. They really are bleedin lushy burgers.
 
I made mince, mashed tatties and kale for dinner, it felt like being in the war, very utilitarian din din but delicious too. Scottish soul food :D
 
Kate do you add anything to your mash or just go with potato? I've recently purchased a decent potato masher (fuckyeah) and getting cravings for pie+mash.

Trying to expand my cooking repertoire.. usually my meals are pretty much: take a tin of tomatoes, add assorted vegetables/pulses, lashings of chilli and various herbs + serve with pasta/rice. Gets a bit dull after a while :| Might try a lasagna this weekend..
 
Just munched some cheese on toast. Was "Fountain's Gold" cheddar wiv black pepper innit. Made a fine bit of cheese on toast too :)

Also, I made two bits of toast which seemed fairly reasonable but was actually a bit much. These 'ere nicotine patches may not have stopped me smoking but they don't half work as an appetite suppressant. Have hardly felt hungry all week despite not really eating much of owt at all. This is a very handy side-effect so will be sticking to me patches even if they do sod all to help me stop smoking.
 
^ thats another good reason for me to try the patches again. I'm pretty sure that I'm one of those people who if gave up smoking would balloon rapidly. I'm short as well so the extra lbs have nowhere to go but outwards :!

So effie to make a change from a tomato based pasta dish you're going to make a tomato based pasta dish? ;) just kiddding i know what you mean. lasagne is a process to make but takes ages to eat and never gets boring or less delicious till the last mouthful.

My staple is pasta & pesto and a salad with balsamic vinaigrette. It does get dull.
 
Haha :D but it's an oven-baked tomato-based pasta dish :D

I don't have an oven dish at the mo but mum's donating me one at the weekend so a whole world of culinary excitement has just opened up. I'm also going to get a pie dish. %)

With you on the pasta'n'pesto and the salad'n'balsamic ting, do you make your own? (salad dressing that is, although I've always fancied home-made pesto too) Balsamic + olive oil is great, so simple and tasty.
 
Always my own dressing Effie, b/vinegar, extra v olive oil, s&p and a bit of sugar or honey :) I've never grown enough basil to make pesto but its something I'd like to make too.

I don't know about your charity shops Effie but round here they have ovenware and kitchen stuff coming out their ears, must be a dead old lady thing ;) really nice retro pie dishes and jelly moulds and pyrex stuff. If I owned my own kitchen and accumulate clutter I'd buy loads. Using its a different matter though!

I just use milk to mash miss Eff, bit of seasoning for everyday kinda dishes though you can mash anything into mash! :D God I love mashed turnip (swede for you english pigs) and carrots.

What about roasting things - chop chunky any kind of veg. Mix whatever you fancy herb, spices, lemon, capers etc into olive oil and rumble yer veg in that to coat and lay out on a baking tray and ROAST. It goes all caramelised and lovely. + Stock cube, more herb spices garlic any mix million variations of flavours etc etc to COUS-COUS, add chickpeas, beans, bits bobs n what not.

Kinda like pasta n tomatoy sauces / pesto thing - you can do loads of different meals on the veg-cous-cous theme. Oh and don't forget NUTS :sus: cheap too.

I'm supposed to be doing plaice with lemon n' herb butter, wilted green veggies and not sure what as I've sat down now and am not hungry :\

Tuna few hours ago, not eaten much apart from that today, been aiming to rip off aprox a stone in weight this week on diet and exercise
 
A stone from where Dan? You dont exactly look like you need to lose any weight. What weight are you anyway?

Those nicotine patches really are the bizniz for appetite suppression. Am half a bottle of voddy down so should've powered through half of that in a heartbeat. Managed two slices and the second one was a struggle. Unlike some folk, I genuinely could do with losing a few pounds (and a coupla stone) so this is a very Good Thing indeed %)

(aside from all the empty alcohol calories 8))

So are you quite short? im 11 6 lbs at the minute and 5" 11 and and still pretty slim. Have a slight ponch at best which has been developed by having a sitdown job and giving the gym a miss since moving town,
 
Same height as you,

i aint fat but compared to what i used to be, i am. nearly 12 stone to 11 in a week is good, no drugs involved either,
