Do you live in London Chip? In Carter USM days we (mate and myself) used to drink occasionally with him in a pub on the corner of Effra Road (which I lived just off) and Brixton Water Lane called...fucking hell, can't remember, googled it and its now called Hootananny??? WTF name is that?? Twats. Anyway, yeah he was always a nice guy and we were big Carter fans which obviously helped. He lived up Herne Hill IIRC.
 
Yeah I do - think Les and his Abdoujaparov cronies are all still very much centred around Brixton (lol @ hootenanny).

Two guys in the band I was in were diehard fans and befriended him through an intensive stalking process over the years.
