"Beautifully Unfinished"

Sunday raindrops
Clock goes tick, tock
I hate myself for staring at the phone
Kept all your texts, can’t erase them
I’d call you up but I know you’re not alone

I know that I should not hold on
So why can’t I let go

‘Cause every time I’m with you
Somehow I forget to breathe
You got me like a rag doll
Now I’m dancing on your string
And I keep trying to figure out who you are to me
But maybe all that we were meant to be
Is beautifully unfinished
Beautifully unfinished

You left your kiss like a bruise on my lips
Your fingerprints are tattooed on my skin
And hush now don’t cry, build your walls high
And don’t you dare come creeping in

‘Cause you’re the one that I can’t lose
You’re the one that I can’t win

‘Cause every time I’m with you
Somehow I forget to breathe
You got me like a rag doll
Now I’m dancing on your string
And I keep trying to figure out who you are to me
But maybe all that we are meant to be
Is beautifully unfinished

And I hate you and I love you
And I wish you’d go away
And I hate you and I love you
And I wish that you would stay

‘Cause every time I’m with you
Somehow I forget to breathe
You got me like a rag doll
Now I’m dancing on your string
And I keep trying to figure out who you are to me
But maybe all that we are meant to be
Oh, beautifully unfinished
We’re beautifully unfinished

https://youtu.be/nY7OLfHDX48?list=PL...sU5RtNXv-Th3ko Charles Manson People say I'm no good

People say I'm no good
But they never never do they say
Why their world is so mixed up
Or how it got that way

They all look at me and they frown
Do I really look so strange
If they really dug themselves
I know they'd want to change

Everybody says you're no good
'Cause you don't do like they think you should
Do you expect them
An' do you expect you to act like them
Look at them man
Look at the fix they're in

I don't care I don't care what they say
Just let 'em sit there and burn
The young might not be so dumb after all
An' from the young you might even learn

Everybody says you're no good
'Cause Charles you don't do
You don't do like they think you should
Do you expect them to act like you
Do you expect them
To expect you to act like them
Do you expect to see
Do you expect the fool to see what a fix he's in
Do you expect the fool to see what a fix he's in

In your cardboard houses
An' your tin-can cars
You sit there and you wonder
You wonder where you are

Those diamond rings they're obscene
You sit there and you wonder
And you say who's to blame
Take a look at yourself
Take yourself off the shelf
You can't belong to nobody

With your Can't-Cough medicine
And your wonder drug
You got, more sickness
Than you got cures of

H3 -- bitter-sweet memories of a day spent listening to this track over and over again, after putting a couple up for the night who were barred by the police from returning to the eco-protest camp that was their home; my first sip of methadone, and the last time I saw their dog alive.

The Beautiful South, Don't Marry Her. This is the "clean" version, which I actually prefer; Don't marry her, have [sex with] me, as opposed to f**k me. It's suggestive and kind of classy. I don't have to resort to vulgarity to get my exact meaning across.

As for my personal take on it, the song is within the imagination of a man in a relationship approaching a new stage and fearing that it will turn sour. "Her" and "Me" are the same person, viewed from different aspects. As long as the relationship remains casual, he need not worry about seeing another side to his girlfriend. What if it could be like this forever, and I didn't have to make a commitment that might be for life?, he is asking; and the song is what he is imagining her saying in support of his idea.

^WOW, I never knew that. I always thought he meant "don't marry her" as in another person, go with him instead. I had no idea he was talking about himself as two different personas. Interesting.

Who's read the lyrics n / listened to Beautifully Unfinished, by Ella Henderson (that I posted above)? What are your thoughts on it? I've had this song on repeat for the past six months n ABSOLUTELY adore this song, can't imagine ever tiring of it. I love the lyrics to it. Bloody ACE.
