Really shouldn't play this, it's when he reached his 'run out of lyrics and love for capitalism' stage but I bounced around my freshers fair at Essex uni at 18 tripping on LSD to it and I feel 18 right now and I was at uni with the current Greek finance minister and yes to Marxism and no to the IMF and celebrate good times come on!

I've seen Mogwai twice. Once on my 30th birthday, another time at Glastonbury. I could have happily stabbed myself both times. My best mate likes them though.

They are good tunes though (as were the ones in the post before actually). I could probably sit in your living room with you FG. But not when you're playing Slayer mind.
 
I tried with Mogwai. They reminded me of Rush, but more complicated. I loved a few tracks but I think they require more patience than I was prepared to give em FG.

Really shit song. But ok sentiment. To a large extent I never knew there were any other rooms at parties? Parties before the days of party drugs were shit, they really were. hrmn, it's precinct 13 too, and that Shelly track was labelled homospaien so the mp3 tags are all messed and spelling fucked. Whomever ripped it was probably also stoned at the time

kitchen or sat outside on the grass getting a wet arse usually for me. either that or not at all since I was always either shy or unsociable or both depending on what age. Or if i was lucky enough to find a film buff, id sneak off to whatever room had a tv and look for an old movie to watch. remember doing that with village of the damned. sad geek, even then.... Oooo, and THEM, i remember sneaking off for that.. classic sci fi always good for doing an escape act

Can anyone recommend something similar? I like progressive stuff, lots of melody, chords and cadences. I'm not keen on repetitive beats and vocals. Above all, I want a shifting soundscape that I can close my eyes and lose myself in.

Suggestions?

Edit - listen to the part from 33 minutes on to get what I'm looking for. Only thing I'd change is to lose the vocals at the end.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've not heard of either but will check them out later. Laying in bed with eyes closed, completely lost in sounds and images reminds of why I fell in love with weed in the first place.
