I'm familiar with most Kate Bush. My older sister got us hooked as little kids. She's a genius. And also a big Killing Joke fan as it happens. I kid you not.

EDIT: Robbie? Did you have to?

Number 23 was the best. :D ;)

For some reason I'm listening to Stones tunes of dubious quality from the eighties. I'm not even going to inflict them on people after I did the David Lee Roth thing. Which was unforgivable, and hopefully ruined someone's day.

^^

The bringer of Nancy Spungen, or so it goes

The Sex Pistols - Bodies

Could well be true - the Heartbreakers brought a load of NY heroin exiles with them to London because of the scripts they couldn't otherwise get in the US at the time.

That's possibly my favourite Pistols track, mostly because of the intensity and the fact I prefer Sid's bass sound - like a less-skilled Jah Wobble, rather than Matlock's proficient rock 'n' roll scale based-stuff. Or Jones' rhythm-guitar style overdubs, which sometimes actually work really well depending on the song.

I like bass players who sound like they've listened to loads of reggae before they joined a rock band. :)

Speaking of which: Killing Joke- Pssyche

Delightful.

Tristan - Freewheeler

I don't listen to a lot of psy-trance these days but I went to a few warehouse/factory parties organised by him and Simon Posford (Hallucinogen) in the early-mid 90's and always have a couple of their albums on me mp3 player, was listening to Tristan in the van today....160bpm a bit fast for driving round lanes and gravel drives sensibly...

Spookily enough, the bass player I posted as an example (Youth of Killing Joke) was semi-responsible for the existence of psytrance and started Dragonfly Records. As well as being (ahem) half of Blue Pearl.

Was in The Orb sometimes too, but chased the money from producing major label records instead. And ocasionally rejoining Killing Joke.

Musical geek triva vol. whatever.
