Spookily enough, was just 'bout to post a Throbbing Gristle tune. Spooky. And a bit Gristley.

But for fuck's sake, let's hope nobody in a fragile state of mind clicked that link, eh? :D

I think everybody's learned by now. Hopefully. Or some kid is just about to have his darkest acid trip ever...

Gang of Four - Ether

"Trapped in heaven life style (locked in Long Kesh)
New looking out for pleasure (H-block torture)
It's at the end of the rainbow (White noise in)
The happy ever after (a white room)
Dirt behind the daydream
Dirt behind the daydream
The happy ever after
Is at the end of the rainbow
Dig at the root of the problem (Fly the flag on foreign soil)
It breaks your new dreams daily (H-block Long Kesh)
Fathers contradictions (Censor six counties news)
And breaks your new dreams daily (each day more deaths)"

(the oirish stuff is neither here nor there to me but is a corking lyric nonetheless <3)

Electronic - Idiot Country

"My name is not important, it's a signal, a sign
It means I'm doing what I do because I do it all the time
I get a lot of fun emotion, I get none if I use ya
I would crawl across the ocean so I could not abuse ya

My life's deteriorating at a quarter to eight
Because I wrote myself a letter and I mailed it too late
I got a knock on the door, I got a nail on the floor
I got a nail in my head, but it don't hurt me no more"

<3

PS: Liking that Felt tune, Sam <3

Used to have the rare first pressing of that album (on Factory) c/w pretentious Factory blurb insert! Mint condition.

Sold it for cider money while I was dossing in Bangor as a teenage fuckwit. But what's a boy to do?

Excellent tune though. :D

Really? Weird choice, but was it a 'choice' as such? ;)

Vinyl KLF collections - much coveted, very beautiful things. You bad man.

Anyway, seeing as you're receptive to the Felt and I know you love the Scream (whom he joined afterwards), how about a bit of genius from Martin Duffy? Also filled in for the Charlatans after their tragedy.

He was a kid when he wrote this, the bastard: Felt - Ferdinand Magellan <3 <3 <3

He was allowed to do what he wanted to under the Felt name for a while, dspite lack of Lawrence, and that was an example of how good he really is.

Ahh... KLF vinyl... had more than most... albeit mostly briefly :|

Dunno if it was the rarest but this was the album that brought home the most bags...

Used to post a different linky to that album regularly in the PD ketthreads cos it had Bill Drummond's very own comment on it at the top of the (very short at the time) list of comments. Don't recall the precise wordage but was paraphrased to the effect of "Man I forgot it was us that made this. Not heard it in years. Last time I heard this was at *some warehouse rave* back in *89/90/91 - I forget* trippin' me fuckin' nuts off on some wicked dots. God bless YouTube" <3

PS: Am liking the Felt stuff... been meaning to d/l but not found a handy discog yet and tend to be a tad anal with tunage collecting :o

What a fucking album though, and fuck knows what it'd be worth nowadays. :\

Felt were always weird. Either neo-classical instrumentals, cocktail jazz ,electronica or Lou Reed / Television style alt-rock, then proto-alt country. To compile even a rudimentary playlist would be to misrepresent some aspect.

Gotta luvva lil Mazzy <3

Mazzy Star - Five String Serenade

...

Got distracted betwixt beginning and ending this post for long enough to justify posting another from me lostsold collection of vinyl<3...

Joy Division - Sister Ray (live)

"Cecil's got his new piece
He cocks and shoots between three and four
He aims it at the Sailor
Shoots him down dead on the floor
Oh, you shouldn't do that
Don't you know you'll stain the carpet
Don't you know you'll stain the carpet
And by the way man, have you got a dollar
Oh no man, I haven't got the time time
Too busy sucking on a ding dong
She's too busy sucking on my ding dong
Oh, she does it just like Sister Ray said
I'm searching for my mainline
I said I couldn't hit it sideways
I couldn't hit it sideways
Oh, just like, just like Sister Ray says
Now, who's that knocking
Who's that knocking on my chamber dooe
Now could it be the police
They've come to take me for a ride ride
Oh, but I haven't got the time time
Too busy sucking on my ding dong
She's too busy sucking on my ding dong
Oh, now, just like Sister Ray said"

<3

Just read that as I was coming to the end of "The Murder Mystery". I'm a third-album man. That and Loaded :)

Controverisal? Maybe. They're the records that made me love junk though. Many years ago, before 9/11 and all that.
