You're going to hate me for this, so assicated mod-thangs may be interesting for those with nothing at all to focus on, but that kinda thang reminds me of being 14.
Erm... a lot of people find the Swans utterly vile. Most of my friends included.
That was from their campy and dramatic goth period, when they'd started experimenting with actual tunes. They went from nasty-but-great- to camp-but-great, to just great. If you're me.
Many other people just think 'depressing' and it's kind of true, but there's real humour too.

It feel very teen hormone, where this had longevity and hopeless legacy idealism (you gotta love hippy, it rules right)...however many olds hang on and hey i couldn't and shouldn't contradict wisdom.
I like stuff that reminds me of my youth and before (that all punk jam n' the like), but not for real like,,,,
I find most Swans tracks just the wrong side of grating, but Why Are We Alive is one of the most beautiful noises I've ever heard from a band. Just a shame there isn't more like it from them in my opinion.
