hah! you just made nerdboy turn round with a big 'ahhhh!' whilst doing stuff in the kitchen ... he even wiggled his hips a little @ the chorus. and it's he first time he's seen it in colour btw, since he's one of the last 5 people in the country to have got a colour tv. dangermouse, bananaman, scooby do and every show pre 1999 all seen in black n white. beggers belief really. he even used to play super nintendo and mario on a b & w telly.

also, as this is a drum related choon, I take it drummer things are on a positive note?

Glad to be of service! It's one of my favourite Sooty moments too. Though I must admit that I'm firmly in the Sweep camp - Sweep was always cooler than Sooty.

Ha! I wish. :\

I've kind of given up on both, or rather any momentum has been lost. I've missed a couple of opportunities to attend gigs of theirs, and not been at any occasions where I could bump into either of them, so nowt has occurred.

The one in the signed band will probably be too famous and snooty to fuck me now, which is a shame. The girl in the other band is probably the more intriguing option of the two and we've actually sort of had a drink together (well, she demanded that I stay for one with her when we struck up a conversation over a cig) and really got on, so I'd like to see her again even if it's just to chat. Probably won't in a hurry though. File under "could've been".

Of course, at one time I would've got her number off a friend and no doubt I'd be thoroughly bored of every orifice in her body by now. Those days are long gone, however. For how long, who knows. Hopefully not forever.

saw a great vid the other day of them performing this, he had a whole keyboard/synth set up next to him for a one shot stab every 32 bars or so, used the fucking thing about 3 times durung the whole preformance...

great song thoug, will look out for the original, but i can't see how Neil Sedaka could beat this version for uber camp proto-disco.
