Golden Era Pumpkins. When they were on just the right mix and quantity of drugs. Was listening to bootlegs of that tour that got me back into gee-tar music properly on a regular basis rather than just the odd tune that appealed to me. One of me proudest gee-tar playing moments was learning (almost) all of that lovely lil mellow section at the end of Hummer cos could never manage solo-esque stuff really. Learnt to play the whole album in fact - bought the tab book and everything. Buggered if I could manage to keep up with the basic chords at half-speed these days but was fun at the time.
^ Will give that a listen inna bit, Dan. Might mock, might praise. Better honest than bumlicky though. If it's as decent as yer gee-tar then you're doing pretty fukkin well though.
^^ Ouch, TLM! Ya could've warned us there was a footy song involved 8(
One of only two halfway decent footie songs ever (other being that New Order one but even that's borderline and only gets through cos it's New Order (and John Barnes' "rap" is hilarious ))...
Ooh! New Eels album out this month. Just listened to two tracks off it. Sounds like Eels. Maybe not classic Eels but Eels nonetheless. Quite liking the new "tramp Blues Brothers" look too.
So any good the new eels album? Will get it at some point and thinking about going to see them when they are round my way in the summer. Eels music I'm 50/50 on to be honest.
Only heard two tracks on their official channel so dunno about the rest of it. Sounds kinda generic Eelsy but that ain't necessarily so bad cos I likes me Eels. Bit hit and miss though is true. Other track off it I've heard so far is...
Not currently listening to owt cos I'm still struggling to get akip (going well as you may realise 8)) but had to congratulate on a damn fine choice there, Ben. Flashbulb is greatly underrated. Quality tunes
