nah mate would love to though. now you've mentioned it i haven't seen much of their live stuff, gonna go and check some out

you seen them many times live? where have you seen them too n whats your fave tunes by then?

The best time was at Ashton Gate Free Festival in Bristol it was about 96ish .
Protection & Unfinished Sympathy are the two anthems but their discography is incredible . When i was young back in 90/1, 3 D & Mushroom would do DJ sets @ Moles Club In Bath .

Dinosaur Jr. - Freak Scene

This time next week I'll be seeing these guys play for the first time. Just getting myself into the spirit of things.
I strongly advise you go centre or centre right rather than left.

I saw em in Leeds (bout 2010 I think) and was at the front, but I only had Mascis to look at really, and he doesn't move an inch, or a face muscle.

Alternatively, Lou Barlow is Godlike and is astonishingly fucking gorgeous to watch and doesn't stop moving and earns his pennies. He clearly enjoys the attention and loves playing the RockGod, but he actually deserves that title imo, it's fully earned - he seems to love and appreciate every second on stage, and gives it 100% and plays like a motherfucker for the whole gig

I love most of his solo stuff as well as Sebadoh, but he really is a pleasure to watch at a D Jr gig.

I was a total Barlow convert after that gig. I thought he seemed a little bitter and twisted after hearing his solo stuff, but he totally dispells any doubts after seeing Jr live.

Enjoy yer gig, I'm thoroughly jealous <3

Dinosaur Jr - The Wagon

[edit]
Who's supporting?

Built to Spill were on a joint tour with them when I saw em, and I think they topped Jr for me on that night.

Pixies - The Purple Tape

Full demo album from 1987.

<3

Speaking of all things Deal, Kelley Deal has a new band. I'll be seeing them in March. Pretty much heard this song and decided I had to go. T'is fuckin' lush.

R.Ring - Fallout & Fire

I strongly advise you go centre or centre right rather than left.

D'aw, thanks so much for the advice. I feel a little too old to be getting squished in the mosh pit these days, so was just gonna chill near the bar/toilet lol. But we'll see how it goes nearer the time. :)

Who's supporting?

Not too sure at this point.

Think you'll find it was Ashton Court Brimz man, not the footy ground! I was there too, amazing gig. Also saw them do a wicked set at Glastonbury mebbe a year or so later, unforgettable, a tangible chill hanging over the whole field like a mist.

Not a patch on what they were then nowadays though, but probably worth seeing if you missed em in their pomp.

More Culture Shock - 'Civilization Street' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrF2zcHQ4YM
