Sadly my colleagues would draw the line at listening to music in work.

I've been told all about the Welsh early-nineties music scene though - I used to hang around with a few older Welsh scene veterans in my teens when I briefly lived over the border.

At the time, a later wave of Welsh bands were becoming massive, but they always used to lament the passing of the old scene. Reminds me of afternoons spent watching Sali Mali, getting into smoking hash.

I guess id be classed as one of the Vets then. I left wales in 1990. I was into the welsh scene from 85-89, but still had the occasiional peek back into it after that. Anrhefn, Y Cyrff, Datblygi were the 3 most brilliant welsh bands of the time.

Im often the only one trhat goes as nuts as the audiences in these clips. Everyones become so boring and conservative these days. You just get abuse when you be yourself. Im just gonna tell those miserablke bastards just what they are next time that happens. The base player of y cyrff used to completely loose himself in his music, sadly he later went on to commit suicide. Apparently people always thought he was crazy. Poor guy. I remember going to gigs as a teenager and seeing all these weird and wonderful people. Theyve all gone. I seem to be the only weird person left. Im so puzzled why this has happened. I think maybe Manchester forces people to conform ? I dont know.

you'd be on about the superfurryanimals who started as a welsh language band ? and the stereophonics ? Love them both too. I saw the lead singer of the Stereophonics in that record shop on oldham street, he was behind me in the Q, i didnt say anything to him,. what could you say without sounding like a twat, he was much shorter than i imagined he would be but extremely handsome.
