Marmalade: Cloudbusting - excellent fucking track! And probably the only song that hit the top 20 which is about a German marxist psychoanalyst - Wilhelm Reich, who wrote the influential "the mass psychology of fascism" - and his later less scientific (ok, ok, psychoanalysis doesn't quite cut it as science either, but anyway) pursuits in constructing a rain-making machine (his "cloudbuster")!

Union city blue has this marvellous air of detachment I feel is very catching. Goes for many Blondie songs. Cheers!

Slag Boom Van Loon - Poppy Seed (Boards of Canada Remix)

Slag Boom Van Loon - Light of India

Slag Boom Van Loon - Sutjeda (Four Tet Remix)

liked that made me want to listen to this though

The Imagined Village - 'Ouses 'Ouses 'Ouses

The spoken word sample in that Transit Kings tune (based on a documentary about the actual last lighthouse keeper in the UK dontcha know) has soooooooooooo many layers of meaning it's just pure genius <3

Liking that track you posted too - can see why you connected the two :D

How damnably kismetic. It just so happened that I had me lil brother round for dins last night and I showed him this site, whereupon he proceeded to do a rather vigorus, mildly disturbing, dance to that very selfsame tune. Small world, eh? :)

Unrelated beyond a general hippity-hoppity sense...

El-P (ft. Mr. Muthafuckin eXquire & Danny Brown) - Oh Hail No

Came across 'El-P' (whoever they/he/it is) t'other day and liked the one I heard, this one is another belter. I'm not quite up with the Brimz of this world when it comes to my hippity-hoppity terminology but I believe that is what some may call "sweet as fuck flow". Or summat like that.

Huh-huh, Shambles likes ELP. :D

Debbie would no doubt be the better fuck, but Nico would shoot up with you. She might even shoot you up, which beats any fuck whatsoever.

Nico - Sagen Die Gelehrten

Sorry, but the kratom is taking me to the icy bosom of Nico. Again.

You guys just carry on with the non-suicidal vibe, okay? :)

Knock - I had totally missed that El-p track! Thx. I myslef discovered El-p through an ex who was a big fan of his "deep space 9mm" hit. His style - the lyrics as well as the music - is quite paranoiac. Very appealing. Fave track is probably Smithereens of the I'll Sleep When You're Dead album https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HQQduZxVDc

:p

I actually acquired their discography once cos so many people with taste apparently like 'em. Didn't take long for me to realise either the folk who recommended them had broken ears or I did. And I lean to the former ;)

Mr. Muthafuckin eXquire (ft. Despot, Das Racist, Danny Brown, EL-P) - The Last Huzzah (Remix)

Action Bronson - "Strictly 4 My Jeeps" (Official Video)

Fat ginger-beardy rapper with Coldplay references, large jiggly, leotarded lay-deez and cookery pr0n? Check.

Die Antwoord - "Fatty Boom Boom" (Official Video)

Whether you like the band or not, do yerself a favour and watch the vid cos is pure class =D<3

Wow thanks for that. I've been back on a philosophy (and psychology) spluge recently and up all night reading tons ... I'm not a Freud fan really, but can take a few relatives from Jung. Just read the wiki on your guy, and identified with him immediately. Like straight away. I've had a metaphorical rod stuck up my arse, (which may just as well be real), that exits just around my larynx (lol) for my entire life. It's eroding away bit by bit cos I'm hot on development and work on it, but he sounds like he'll be a very helpful guy to my problem. Also, he reminded me of Cronenberg for various reasons, so he's got my attention regardless of whether a bit of deeper digging into him reveals a pile of bollocks.

I thought a lot of the tracks on the album were about a bad relationship ... ie: Running Up That Hill ... I'll listen to it again with a different perspective now.

Oh, and Holy Fuck, I just actually watched the begining part of the vid properly (Cloudbusting) ... the rock up the hill ... Sisyphus ... CAMUS ... *fans self* .... Sold Sir! ... I was always just star struck by Sutherland being in it before. First time I've seen it and made the connections.
Cheers tons for that. I'm always chipping away at my rod extraction. Much obliged. Will definitely read more <3

Re: Willhelm Reich - Also worth looking into his Orgone Energy Theory. I've only read one of his books on the subject and tried one of his exercises but lawdy o'blimey did it actually work. You'd approve I suspect, Mz Marmz - it's focussed (at least in part) on wanking :D<3

Just found out that Orgone are also a rather funktastic, Acid Jazz-type band apparently. Live and learn :)

Yeah, believe me, I got to the section on 'Orgastic potency' and was fucking sold ;p

orgastic potency is the ability to experience an orgasm with specific psychosomatic characteristics and, among others, requiring the ability to love

It's like he's Cronenberg's intimate other side, or brother or summat. And you KNOW how the thought of that will appeal to me.

Will be reading lots over the next few days, cheers fellas!

I tried, honest. But covering Kate Bush is a crime in most civilised nations.
