Welcome What are you listening to today? v. verum invenire

The boys were definitely pioneers when it came to sampling and beats. This song is part of b boy bouillabaise, which is the last song on Paul's Boutique. It's actually a combination of 9 different songs all done together so it is easy to miss. I was a fan up till check your head came out. That's when I saw them. After that I wasn't into them as much. Just out of curiosity have you heard some of their more obscure stuff? Cookie Puss? Boomin Granny?

I grew up in FL and in the late 80s, 90s Miami Bass and freestyle music was everywhere. Transition into the club breakbeats of the 90s and I became a dedicated bass head. The early days were the time of the lowrider mini trucks, 2 Live Crew, booming systems all over the place. So I've definitely heard of the Roland 808 machine. It's amazing to me how something like that can influence music for so many years. Imagine if that never was released. There'd probably be no heavy bass, electronic music, certain types of hip hop, trap, dubstep.
I know the song , love it.

Explain that 'actually a combination of 9 different songs all done together' never knew what should i look for. which nine songs.
Your bringing up something totally unknown. The song ends with a Cash sample which later on became a favorite artist of mine.
But thats not the 9 fused songs. I ll listen again but probably will need a clue or do a i-net search. i have no clue.

Obvious now its like it but better then the OG version. I ll figure the nine out, eventually.

Totally random sparked by reading something

Lol ok so there is a band called Fish speaking of which Phish is playing a couple of shows soon not too far from here I was recently listening to Mike Gordon's newest solo album I like it more than Phish hah not really a Phish fan but his solo sound had my full enthusiasm funny how that works

Oh, Fish and the Jesus sign, well Godflesh is the closest thing to sermon I willfully hear these days

I am lost in a house full of broken, myriad mirrors cannot determine how to exit before I am deeper inside. Not the Godflesh song I wanted really but this wilderness of mirrors...speaks to my subconscious

Ok. So apparently there were 9 songs they had that were incomplete. So instead of finishing them, they pretty much combined them all into one 12 minute song. It's the last song on Paul's Boutique. They are listed like this:

a. "59 Chrystie Street"
b. "Get on the Mic"
c. "Stop That Train"
d. "A Year And A Day"
e. "Hello Brooklyn"
f. "Dropping Names"
g. "Lay It on Me"
h. "Mike On The Mic"
i. "A.W.O.L."

The sections vary in length from 48 seconds ("Mike On The Mic") to 2:22 ("A Year And A Day") and total 12:33.

This is the entire thing all together. You might recognize some or all of it, just not realizing it's really all one song.

'Leave me alone' [ my disabled landlord employees] wont, so its no talking stress and war,
and they fall short constant, Victim blaming childish, using the obvious and well known manipulation tactics.

'Peace of mind' please. I ll run over you as a train, you wont even know how what happened. Assholes.

Thank s to all artists bringing balance in this live!

And then BASS
