Welcome What are you listening to today? v. verum invenire

Did you know it's criminal to fail using that chord progression?
I’m not a music snob. I used to play jazz music for about a decade but I never confused what sounds good and is uplifting to dance to with what is technical and makes musicians jack off to it just because it’s complex musically….like so many people that are musicians. I actually find the most technical and complex music to be off putting.

My favorite music is pretty simple and repetitive minimalistic house music and some pop-house fusion music.

But I listen to some newer hip hop also, some reggae.

This one I’ve been playing a lot. Some music I like for the dance or best and some music like the hip hop I love for the story telling

I'm no snob either, wasn't dissing the song but just highlighting its chord progression which seems to be not only my own favorite but the whole world's favorite.

Just to clarify as i'm not sure how my comment was taken.

I know what you mean about pretentious technicality in music.

Sorry I’m dumb.

I thought I read “criminal to use the cord progression”. Without the word “fail” inserted so certainly changes the meaning.

This is my little brother’s band, I love the following lyrics below.

People around me seem so dead, I wanna get out of here, before I'm them.
The air in my lungs is makin' me choke, I can only dream of a place of hope.
Where the air is fresh and the sea is blue. Western, sand I'm comin' home to you. Home to you YEA!

Music runs in my family and I'm so proud of him. 🥹💙
