Just stumbled upon Tristan after many years of half forgetting. He has abandoned some characteristic restraint and embraced balls to the wall psychedelia. It's a positive development. Last year's album is called "Crazy Wisdom". The title is bold and naked, flirting with tackiness from the right angle. It's interesting to see the psytrance genre maturing. It holds promise of complete alienness, mirrorring the allure of rock and 60's psychedelia in an even more abstract and primitivist fashion. Personally decoupled, but evidently tracing the spiritual aging of a man nevertheless. Increasingly, it dares to just be what it is - but always at risk of losing that very thing.
