Currently coming down from an acid trip.
Was listening to this full album when i was walking my way back home from my tripping spot.

I always find myself going back to listening to this full album on acid. Such an awesome and gorgeous album holy shit.

this tigran guy seems to be well anticipated. he is often mentioned when it comes to the term Djazz. i liked mockroot, too. not my favorite pianist these days (hes even younger than me but learned from chick corea).

i can recommend craig taborn, andy milne, george colligan and viyay iyer when it comes to modern jazz piano these days. check out my short solo piano playlist:

Cool, will definetely check them out.
As for the whole "djazz" thing, i don't try to even acknowledge some of these borderline meme labels anymore because they make me cringe to no end.
It all comes down to the whole "djent" bullshit that people still treat as an actual genre of music rather than an omotapoeia for the sound of low tuned power chord chugging guitars following a specific signal chain that is the signature of Meshuggah's sound.

Ever since that forum post from Fredrik Thordendal asking a question about some specific piece of equipment that would help him achieve that specific tone that he described as sounding like "djent djent djent" when you chug a power chord, people have taken this to a whole new level of cringe that spawned countless Meshuggah wannabe bands which in turn became some kind of birth to the whole "djent" thing as a genre.

Tigran was a trash metal fan growing up and actually wanted to play the guitar but ended up being a virtuoso on the piano instead. You can clearly hear some metal influences in his compositions and for some reason people had to associate his music sound "djenty" but it's jazz therefore "DjAzZ".

To me he's a really awesome fusion pianist and i really appreciate his work. Sorry for this borderline rant but i felt like i needed to address the fact that i don't want to be lumped in with all the "djazz" bozos.
