1. MBM pioneered the "big beat sound" that undergirded the electronic music fad that swept the US in the late nineties. None of MBM's imitators, however, successfully replicated his sound, soaked in dub and downright funky rhythmic work.
2. MBM arguably produced the first drum 'n' bass track ("Radio Babylon", in like '88 or '89) (I am well aware that it would be impossible to adjudicate this kind of claim to "first".)
