Lou Reed - No Chance (Regret)

It must be nice to be normal
It must be nice to be cold
It must be nice not to have to go up or down

But me I'm all emotional
No matter how I try
You're gone and I'm still alive

And I didn't get a chance to say goodbye

Does that genre actually exist? As opposed to, erm... 'uplifting, euphoric, hands-in-the-air black metal'? Torch-song black metal? Jazz-fusion black metal?

EDIT: Wow, it really does. Fucking hell - I thought The Mission and Bauhaus were po-faced bores. I knew nothing. Still, different strokes for different volk...

Anyway, here's a tearjerker for all you lonely hearts out there: The Ballad Of Evel Knievel

Yes it is very real Samhaingrim

DSBM is an acronym for "depressive suicidal black metal." The use of said acronym sprung from the term NSBM, however the two scenes are by no means linked.

DSBM is primarily distinguished from traditional forms of black metal by its lyrical content, focusing on suicide, depression, anxiety, and hate rather than traditional anti-Christian themes.

There is nothing "po-faced bores" about it, I find your records apartfrom the swans to be crap also, each to their own I say.
How you can write off a whole style of music when I bet you aint even heard it is beyond me & 99% of DSBM music you never see the people who record it, as a general rule people into DSBM don't give a fuck what the band members look like, this aint some fashion show it's music to be played on a dark, cold night in a small room while smoking weed when your depressed.

I have never heard of those styles tbh, but the torch-song black metal I could relate to, maybe a burning torch that you carry with your hands in the air on the way to Asane church in Norway to burn it down ;)

DSBM is far removed from the typical Norwegian black metal sound, hence why it is in a different style ;)

anyway...............

Sounds like a real blast.

But not as much as Johnny Thunders- Who Needs Girls? (Live 1982)

In fact, here's the whole gig for those who are so inclined: Johnny Thunders (fucked-up on booze, downers and methadone with an out of tune guitar and slurring his words even more than usual) versus Sweden, its people and its government

Check out the bit where he asks whose side they were on in the war, before realising he's insulted the entire Swedish population and starts to backpedal - but only slightly.

Johnny. <3

Miles Davis - Feio

everytime i listen to feio, it has have special significance to me, since that fateful life-changing summer afternoon listening to it coming down off a 4-aco-dmt/low dose mxe trip.
