What are you listening to? Part XXX - Sexxxy tunes for sexxxy folks

I wish I had access to opium and shatter. But my current combo isn't too shabby!

I like Take Five. Did you see / hear the way some genius morphed 'Take Five' into 'Golden Brown'? It's very interesting and clever, and more to the point it sounds great. Apparently its the same very unusual jazzy time signature so it just fits perfectly and works.

I couldn't stop listening to it when I first found it.

Yeh, seen that. Its fuckin genius...

Gorgeous Lou Reed track-

And all your two-bit friends have gone and ripped you off
They're talking behind your back saying, man You ain't never going to be no human being
And you start thinking again About all those things that you've done
And who it was and what it was
And all the different things you made every different scene

Ah, but remember that the city is a funny place
Something like a circus or a sewer
And just remember different people have peculiar tastes

Coney Island Baby is an amazing album. Very underrated and overlooked imo. Full of tracks of similar quality.

This one sound kind of loose and free, kind of like an improvised jam session

Complete with lyrics apparently written from the point of view of a serial killer.

Dave Brubeck did an album of tracks that were in unusual time signatures 5/4 (Take Five); 7/8 (The Unsquare Dance & 9/8 (Blue Rondo a la Turk) being the best known ones. He even made a comment that he has no idea how Keith Emmerson managed to play Blue Rondo... in 4/4, when ELP performed it on stage 😁
The one (Kate Bush, not Dave Brubeck) I can never forget is 'Army Dreamers', which is in 3/4 time - waltz time signature. I taught my first partner how to waltz and when they played 'Army Dreamers' at my mate's wedding, we got up and began to waltz. We were both concentrating so much on whispering, "one, two, three", to each other, we never noticed everyone had got off the dancefloor, to watch the two hippies waltzing
Too weird for 'Strictly...' 🤣🤣

I'm at the early stages of intermediate level with teaching myself to play the acoustic guitar. Any songs that are not in 4/4 confuse the hell out of me timing wise, even if they are meant to be super easy beginner tracks like Johnny Cash's 'Ring Of Fire'. THe chords and the changes may well be, but I just could not get the hang of the timing of that last time I tried to play that after watching a couple of tutorials. I think there's parts of it that are 4/4 and other parts that are triplets and 3/4 if i remember correctly, and I had to say to myself "I'll come back to that one" but I never have lol. it seems that I don't have the sense of rhythm to cope with trying to play anything that's not in 4/4 timing.

The anniversary of Townes death 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏
RIP my Brother, your music is beyond words and you knew lessons about life 99.8% of people have no clue about.

The cartel guys will be driving around in a huge black truck or SUV, tinted windows, huge rims, have guns and AKs, big bricks of drugs.... and will be listening to music like this at extremely high volume.

Pretty funny sight to behold.
You aren't wrong, a "friend" I speak to who lives in Jalisco used it on a video he uploaded to a private account I have access to.
You know this stuff too well I feel 😉😉😉😉😉😉
