While there is little point in my contributing to this thread as my personal musical obsessions almost automatically deserve little or no interest from regular members (even the bi - annual occasions on which I share non - electronic selects, self evidently include pieces which anyone with an actual interest in real music probably think are shit) it has been a long time since I decided to fly the flag of what now is an actual crusty old cheesy quaver. While proper crusties were an essential ingredient to UK dance culture, being 2021 my crust is defined by being a dirty middle age man who's presence at a contemporary party alone (something I have always done often if not most of the time) would disgust if not outright cause discomfort to legitimate guests, especially if I got pilled up and into it enough to try and socialise with new faces, a once common feature of a night out which would now be understandably seen as the presence of some sad old pervert to selfish and stuck in the past to realise I have nothing to offer anyone any more, especially by the younger and newer enthusiasts who are the reason a scene still exists despite dickheads like me cutting themselves off from the best experience music culture has ever offered (IMO) to chase junk.
However, I am once again having a fantastic day that came out of no where, having made no contribution to deserve such good fortune and with my mood generally to low to even listen to music I have seized the moment to rinse (so far 2 of the 3 CD's) the only compilation I bought during the last summer I got to go out dancing (the epic closing night of Godskitchen in B'ham on my 37th B'day, courtesy of the VIP ticket I was gifted by ScotchMist who both accompanied me and tolerated the 7 out of the 9 hours we were in there that I spent stomping, twirling and mincing about like the ponce I am). The compilation was the 2016 edition of Azuli's annual Space Ibiza efforts, this one being particularly special with the club permenantly closing its doors at the end of the summer.....
Having only had the privilege to visit the club twice, the last occasion being 'Carry On Manumission', held every Tuesday morning following Manumission's all night parties held every Monday at Privilege, it exists in what might as well be a different life now but just because my general taste in music is largely juvenile does not mean this compilation is and instead of trying to find a link to an actual copy I have, thanks to Youtube, what this album at least partially represented, the full final all night set Carl Cox played before the clubs doors were locked for good...
But while I am on this particular tear, Youtube also has a fair amount of video's from 'The Last Dance' at the Digbeth Institute in B'ham, the last of 3 events with the first 2 being held in Australia, stadium showcases that saw thousands of people in attendance, before the final night in B'ham with just under 3000 in attendance (the main room in the Institute catering for about 1800 heads.

but while the visuals had largely kicked in by the time he came on the sound quality is not as good as the earlier effort. Either way, I have been lucky to have attended 20 - 30 nights that were either filmed or broadcast on television, manna from heaven for a reprobate stuck in the past.....
