Pumpkins - 1979 <3

Such a quality tune. Safe to click on even for those averse to squealing guitar godliness cos there's none of that. Just quality.

NSFW:
Shakedown 1979
Cool kids never have the time
On a live wire right up off the street
You and I should meet

Junebug skipping like a stone
With the headlights pointed at the dawn
We were sure we'd never see an end
To it all

And I don't even care
To shake these zipper blues
And we don't know
Just where our bones will rest to dust
I guess forgotten and absorbed
Into the earth below

Double cross the vacant and the bored
They're not sure just what we have in store
Morphine city slippin dues
Down to see

That we don't even care
As restless as we are
We feel the pull
In the land of a thousand guilts
And poured cement
Lamented and assured
To the lights and towns below
Faster than the speed of sound
Faster than we thought we'd go
Beneath the sound of hope

Justine never knew the rules
Hung down with the freaks and the ghouls
No apologies ever need be made
I know you better than you fake it

To see that we don't care
To shake these zipper blues
And we don't know
Just where our bones will rest to dust
I guess forgotten and absorbed
Into the earth below

The street heats the urgency of sound
As you can see there's no one around

<3

You posted this the other day, and answered something i'd been wondering. I didn't know who sang it until you posted that, and i'd always wanted to know. It's a nice song.

I got one for you...

Christy Moore - Ride on

My Da used to work in Jails where I used to live, he used to teach guitar to IRA prisoners. As a kid I was never allowed to tell anyone, in case of kidnap, his car was checked for bombs every time he drove out of the grounds. But, the IRA prisoners gave him tapes, most of them Christy Moore, Ride on being a one I remember. I love him and Planxty. My dad always said he enjoyed teaching the IRA lads, they were intelligent, but dangerous aye!!!!

^^ Top tune, Cherry <3

Nirvana - Heart-Shaped Box <3

Possibly bordering on sacrilege but I honestly think I prefer In Utero to Nevermind. Possibly even prefer Bleach actually. Nirvana were at their best when the production was at it's least, in my opinion. Nevermind was an achingly gorgeous album itself though despite the heavy production so maybe that just fucked my theory...

PS: Combining your mention of opium with my <3 of Nirvana, Pink - Opium Jukebox - Smells Like Teen Spirit - like a Nirvana tune only drenched in opium rather than smack <3

here, planxty and the good ship kangaroo, i do remember ye sayin this round christmas, god time flies

god, and i just heard mention of opium in this clip,

i got a good few planxty on vinyl, might give em an outing tomorrow and you tube a rest
