mostly due to having the line 'sleep is the cousin of death' which i know is not a dan yemin original but who the fuck cares whether someone who's spawned arguably more than 1 subgenre of musics every last line is original.

title is a pretty good description of what my brains inflicting on me.... though old but currently unfamiliar is prob a better description.

paint it black- the new brutality

urgh. today, this week, is nawt a pleasant one. meh.

Some bands you get into because they're handed down via your bloodline & they're the very first sounds you ever hear and youve really got no choice but to love em forever, however bad they may be [*cough* .. Abba] ... others you force yourself into because your latest crush likes them [so them MUST be good, rite?!], others because you're force fed em by radio/tv playing ... and some bands you just find yourself ... and they're always the bestest. Stumbling upon REM was one of my fave band finds ever.

Stomach ripping perfection, back from when they were a really fucking brilliant band

REM - Country Feedback

I miss them being good. really miss them. I left them at this album [out of time]. Previous to that they were faultless. I hate the over-produced homogenous band they became and I'm glad they decided to call it a day

Y'know Marmalade, somebody had near-enough exactly the same rant at me on Friday night!

I was never a fan really, but then I struggle with non-baritone / bass male voices, being a good Viking warrior and all. Some good tunes though.

Agreed, except to say they had a couple of glimpses in their latter years of that greatness

e-bow the letter

let me in

,

That's a weird one, but I can understand - I must be a bit the opposite - really can't dig the guy in the Angels of Light link you posted (even though I think it would be a great song to cover), and I haven't been able to get into The National because your man's voice just grates with me...
