An ex-gf of mine bought me a Lemonheads album as she thought I was a fan, but unfortunately I wasn't and it was Lemon Jelly she had confuzzled it up with 8) Hehe.

Also, I'm not all good though as I can't stand Van Halen ;)

I love David Lee Roth. Not on a musical level (well, kind of... in a vaguely ironic way) but just as a cock rock icon who was quite possibly in the closet throughout the whole of his peak. His autobiography is wonderful.

Weirdly I was going to post Yankee Rose this very morning. Hmmm...
 
They sure do synthesise the sound of adolescent infatuation / desparation, great band. Still really good live which surprised me.

Yeah, useless and arbitrary as these labels are (especially as 'punk' only became a style of music once punk was more or less ineffectual, at least in the UK) I consider the Buzzcocks to be a proto alt/indie band; probably the blueprint.

They were certainly more influential and groundbreaking in a purely musical fashion than a lot of the more headline-grabbing acts of the time.
