What are you favorite philosophical and political quotes?

“My technique is don’t believe anything. If you believe in something, you are automatically precluded from believing its opposite.”

I think we all know.

What if the belief is that life consists of duality, dichotomy, and imbalance? Your thinking would be primed for syntheses!

"We live in a cloud of illusions and rarely realize that we are spinning this web of fiction for all the hours and days of our lives, unless we are fortunate or unfortunate enough to die slowly. Perhaps slow death may be the only moments of reality for the total life of many earthlings. Because the dying person is forced to face the fact that he is about to become zero." - Richard Rose

“To hell with reality! I want to die in music, not in reason or in prose. People don't deserve the restraint we show by not going into delirium in front of them. To hell with them!”

- Louis-Ferdinand Céline

That's not my interpretation of the quote. I believe that having a consistent open mind about everything doesn't isolate other possibilities in life, whether they are ethetically correct or not.
However I do get your point, I assume it's a personal conception of life that determines the perception in this case.

So sick of limiting myself
to fit your definition
Picture the scene, where whatever you thought,
would, in the blink of an eye,
manifest and become illustrated
You'd be sure man that every
line drawn reflected a life that you loved
not an existence that you hated

~Brandon Boyd~

“Being happy is a great science. If you are not happy, do not be confused. Happiness is hard to achieve.”

“A person who asks love of others, but does not himself give it, cannot be loved. Always be the first to give love and it shall be given to you. As long as you do not give your heart first, you will be far from love.”

“If you pursue happiness, you are an ordinary person. If happiness pursues you, you are an extraordinary person. Do not chase happiness; let it chase you.”

“If you wish to befriend someone, look for a person who loves first God then themselves. If they love God, they will be able to love their neighbor, too.”

“To want someone to love you means you want God to love you.”

“All worlds, through all eternity, have come forth and shall come forth from the source of Love.”

“Therefore, we say: Only Love is eternal. From it flows all life. Love brings the fullness of life.”

”Good, which is a fruit of Love, is contained within it.”

”Wisdom is also contained within Love, because it represents the forms through which God's Love is manifested.”

“Remember: Love is not for the sick. Love is only for healthy people. Do not be deluded: the sick, the spiritually dead, are not illuminated by Love.”

“Love is only for the great, strong souls.”

“Only he who is enlightened with Righteousness is capable of receiving divine Love.”

“When the first ray of Love shines out for you, you will experience within your soul such indescribable bliss, such light, such a mighty impulse in your mind, and such a striving of your will, that all obstacles of the world will begin to melt before you.”

“And when you hear someone say: "I am a man of cold reason, I cannot love, I have no time to spend on such trifles," know that that man is foolish.”

“And if you ask an angel: "Does God love us?", he will answer you: "Better ask me to give up all my consciousness, everything that I have acquired throughout all ages, than oblige me to answer your question - whether God loves you.”

― Peter Deunov

By the way, how much I love the Master Peter Deunov. He was truly one of our greatest mystics and spiritual teachers. Such a shame his teachings have been so suppressed, there is nothing quite like them, completely original. Anyone with spiritual aspirations would benefit from reading him. You can see he's a holy man.

If you don't feel inspired by his words you are spiritually dead.

Remember: Love is not for the sick
????????
You what???!!!!! You f'in what??!!!
Have you gone completely insane or do you actually believe that?
I would be flabbergasted if you could even remotely rationalise such Heresy.
Give it a shot though, I'm all ears...

I think you misunderstand a bit here. I think what he means is that for the psychologically or spiritually sick love is difficult to achieve as an emotion within yourself. It doesn't mean that sick people don't deserve love, which you probably read it as.

And he's talking about the grand kind of love here. Maybe not what most of us think of as love.

Flabbergasted then?

"Whatever your trials, remind yourself that you are a spirit and are capable of changing your destiny."

"In asking love for help, you have opened a spring within you, and now you can leave love to do its purifying work."

"Do not direct all your energies towards seeking pleasure but rather towards a sublime ideal. Your energies will then serve you and contribute to the realisation of your goal or ideal."

"No situation will really improve if mentalities do not improve. People have to leave the region of their lower appetites for changes to become true improvements."

"Man wanted to descend in order to learn; he did so and now he is up to the ears in his studies and beginning to understand what kind of hell he has got himself into."

"I know that when human beings have learned to control and master matter, thanks to the work of their five senses, they will soar upwards again and start to develop their spiritual senses."

"All of you, therefore, who want to make progress on the path of evolution, should limit and reduce the sensations you receive through your five senses and start to look within yourselves."

"Light is a living spirit. The most sublime lesson that the sun gives us is his love for all creatures."

- Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov

G. I. Gurdjieff - Conscious love

Conscious love evokes the same in response.
Emotional love evokes the opposite.
Physical love depends on type and polarity.

Faith of consciousness is freedom.
Faith of feeling is slavery.
Faith of body is stupidity.
Hope of consciousness is strength.
Hope of feeling is cowardice.
Hope of body is disease.

George Ivanovich Gurdjieff /ˈɡɜriˌɛf/ (January 13, 1866 – October 29, 1949), also commonly referred to as
Georges Ivanovich Gurdjieff and G. I. Gurdjieff, was an influential spiritual teacher of the early to mid-20th
century who taught that most humans live their lives in a state of hypnotic "waking sleep", but that it is possible
to transcend to a higher state of consciousness and achieve full human potential. (Wikipedia)

"You cannot fight darkness. You cannot defeat darkness by fighting it. The only solution is filling the void with light, because darkness is a void. So fill it with love."

- Carlos

(Then watch it dissolve/dissisipate - Me)

Alternatively:

"You cannot fight evil - if you ever encounter real evil run for your life"

- Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov

I think both applies, depending on the severity of evil or darkness we're talking about. Not all people/environments are safe staying around trying to change and this can put you in great danger.

As Lucifer said in that article, "Lightworkers" can suffer from this kind of "I'm too sexy for my shirt, too sexy for Milan, New York, and Japan" kind of miscomprehension (great way of putting it), or an over-estimation of their own transformative spiritual abilities it would mean here.

Vision as reception.
Vision as reflection.
Vision as projection.
