If you're drinking the good stuff minimum pricing doesn't really matter. These days I'd rather drink a little of the good stuff than a load of the cheap stuff.

You're probably right, but I'm a cheap kind of fella who mostly drinks Irish whiskey these days.
It's been a while since I went back to Scotland, but last time was the only time I struggled to understand someone. It was Sauchiehall Street Tesco, and the guy had the thickest dialect I've ever heard.

Sauchiehall Street? Only place I got worried murmers after ordering a soft drink. It went around the pub like wildfild - 'See hem. Poor fellae cannae drink, must be deed sick. Nae bother, a wee gie yer hin end a chance blether will fix heem up'.

The weirdest thing was that I was nearly always with a girl who grew up in the Highlands but had a 'posh' accent. So some people would assume I was Scottish and she was English!

I've walked up there after midnight up to Garnethill.
Always entertaining, but never felt threatened. Whereas in my own city I'd be watching my back.

I’ve been all around Glasgow - and a number of the satellite towns - at night and honestly never once felt threatened. England and Wales after kicking out time… YIKES!!!
