Unlike codeine phosphate, it's just not soluble enough in water to ensure that one can remove dangerous amounts of paracetamol. I think people misunderstand the CWE. It will not remove ALL of the paracetamol, the goal is just to ensure that you are not consuming too much.

Even then, I tell people to go to a health food shop, buy methionine. Belt and braces.

Oh, I've been CWEing Paramol for years, this is unsettling news

Well, get some methionine.

Until 1998 (when paracetamol got a GSL), doctors could prescribe Pamelton or Paradote which are simply 500mg paracetamol + 250mg methionine.

The extra cost was tiny and I struggle with the fact that someone wouldn't insist on only the compond medication getting the GSL.

Bad luck imo. I munched HBWR seeds for years and never experienced nausea whilst also getting to enjoy blissfully euphoric LSA highs

In short, get yer self sone HBWR seeds, scrub off the casing if sensitive, munch and rejoice

EDIT: to be clear, the LSA high is nothing even remotely close to fukkin nutmeg deliriousness. Much closer to a mix of LSD and muscimol imo.

I think I watched a video. He's quite a character. I've visited the US dozens of times and if I had to provide an attribute common to (seemingly) all US citizens is that 'can do' spirit (no pun intended... well, OK, it's a pun).

I've tasted Irish poteen smuggled back to Manchester by a priest. He filled up bottles of 7Up with it. On offering me a dram he advised me to 'treat poteen with respect, because it won't treast you with any respect'.

But he really did just build a still out of bits and bobs, used natural clay as a passive temperature-control system and simple copper tubing for the still-head. If memory served he went purely off experience to know how to heat the still in the right way and how much of the product to throw away. Tricky because of course, less product. But he threw away the first part (methanol) and as soon as fusel alcohols began to come over, he stopped.

I have heard that in certain midwest states, moonshine is still a thing. Not sure if it's that cheap but in the end, it's more or less just ethanol and water.

I have met some of the old moonshiners back in my teens, in my 60s now. My cousin was Robert Mitchum. My grandfather was on the sheriff’s department and used to go bust the stills with axes . Lots of our local NASCAR legends were just running shine back inna day. We can still get homemade but now there’s so much that’s been commercialised and is legal. Weed patches, copper stills and pills for the truck drivers…. Those old days are about gone.

In unrelated news… that’s a few litres of homebrew weissbeer that I am currently sampling. Is it the best weissbeer ever? God no… but it’s not terrible and clocks in around 7% so has a lil kick too.

Overall I am happy with my brew

Yeah - I know someone who acquired a dozen or more of those big stainess steel barrels beers are transported in. They brew their own in them but as far as I know they don't drink alcohol. I've never asked where it goes but suspect it's swapped it for other stuff. I don't think it's being sold.

I meant to say how rough & damn nasty the effect was for me.

I am English & sadly never had the chance to see any of what I call "The Real America" as to me The Appalachian Mountains is 100% Old Skool America. The term "Hillbilly" which most people who live in the USA think is a kind of Racial Slur / Offensive term for the poor, working class white people is actually a wink to The Billy Boys from Scotland who had to leave after a huge battle they lost. You will find nearly all the people who live in that part have family going back to Scotland or Ireland.

The Banjo music from that part of the USA is amazing & packs such a Punch, I "feel" that music in my very Soul, I am obsessed with all stuff from this part of America & I live in a part of the UK that is poor, white, working class & they way we speak around here is classed by the rest of the UK as sounding like we are thick, it's equal to taking Popcorn Sutton & any of the other "Shine" men & having them say something then have a rich, white woman from California say the same thing, if you google or Youtube "The Black Country Accent UK" you will hear it.

If you seen the show Peaky Blinders that is more of a Birmingham accent, we people from The Black Country have a different way of "spakin Inglish arr Chavvy" compared to the rest of the UK.

To my ears this Woman is actually being a bit posh in how she speaks, my ex from Norway had no idea what was being said when she first heard the way we speak for the first time, her mom used to have what I said translated 90% of the time.
