Yeh personal preference I guess .if I'm at a bar I've always to watch the bartender closely in case they add ice which I think there used to doing especially in larger modern bars .local pubs near me would always askI love ice in nice whiskies. I just find the flavours too dense, thick, and strong otherwise.
Plus I think they taste a lot better chilled.
And crunching the whisky soaked ice cubes at the end is always fun too![]()
It's a grand cocktail. I always made my own syrup using demerara sugar, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and equal quantities of the 3 ingredients, measured using a bar tenders double shot measure device to get it exactly right.I've never had a whisky sour ,that I can remember lol.but if there's gin in the house and no tonic ill add ice and lemon juice
You're quite right. Your problem drinker is probably going to just cut down on food. And they're probably getting most of their calories from alcohol anyway.Yeh it's a joke and has no affect on how much someone who is dependent on alcohol will drink.just places them in a harder financial situation. Considering Scotlands position concerning drug and alcohol deaths you wonder how well Scottish ministers sleep at night.they sleep very soundly because they don't give a fu@#

Gives you gilders
Spell check.meant to say girdersPity it was replaced by the Euros back in 2002.
Since the guilder was only worth about 33 Eurocents, does the same conversion factor apply? I haven't checked the girder/Euro exchange rate for quite a while.

Yeh I know I thought it was clever I still don't know what country the guilder was currency in .I'm going do to take a stab in the dark ,which is never good lol and say the Netherlands or Belgium?Yeah - I did realize that. I was just riffing on nonsence. I can 100% assure you that it was in no way meant you ridicule you. We all make mistakes, but sometimes the mistake is better.
I was right it was the Netherlands I just googled it .sounds like something a Dutch person would say .Yeh I know I thought it was clever I still don't know what country the guilder was currency in .I'm going do to take a stab in the dark ,which is never good lol and say the Netherlands or Belgium?
Hand on heart that was a guess till I looked it up on wiki and it seems other contries used it as well at some point although spelling may have been different.the dutch had a oversees colonies so I guess it may have been used there .that's a guessI was right it was the Netherlands I just googled it .sounds like something a Dutch person would say .
Yeh I don't know the exact price further north but its def more than 2 pounds ,which puts me off buying it ,I'm sure you could get it online cheaper ,maybeI really like Old Jock. Last had it from Tesco on Sauchiehall Street. Pissed me off that it'd be £2 if I'd been able to buy it on the way!
I like McEwan's Champion too, but it's nowhere near as good.
