What Are You Drinking? V2. Frosty Jacks - For The Discerning Pisshead

There’s no limit on offers - the price simply cannot go below the Minimum Unit Price.

Obviously no company is gonna sell products at below cost though so in practice you rarely see offers of more than around 25% discount.
The 50 % discount was the start of my drunk state lasting at least 2.5 year s.

Imagine Bio-Tequila half the price, or top Vodka s or Jenever s.
Smart before entering the only shop, you passed that discount thing.
Quite luring when your in deep shit. Drunk on top brand s one plus.

Against 20 + minus.

In Scotland there is a Minimum Price per unit of alcohol - currently 65p. This means that for an average 2 unit strength drink there is effectively an extra tax of £1.30 before taking anything else - including standard UK taxes - into account.

In short, booze be pricey!!! :!

Having said that, I mostly just buy whatever’s on offer. Currently Brewdog Punk IPA. Least punk company I can think of… but beer be tasty and price be relatively reasonable so… :\
Hate the Scottish minimum pricing. Especially when I can buy a Scottish drink for less in England than in Glasgow!

I'm so happy that Guinness have kept this in production for about a decade now, so it shouldn't be going anywhere. It's like a bridge between Original and Foreign Extra.

I can victoriously say I'm not drinking alcohol again, had protein shake and then 70cl of Irish cream, and thanks god for making me puke it up, only drank to help have a sleep but now realise I from now on must remain sober and that includes rum and beer being no no's, as taking up exercise I must never drink again, I was an idiot but not anymore!💯💙

I've had the opportunity to enjoy day drinking recently (should wind it down, in all honesty) and at the moment I have a Guinness West Indies Porter on the go with a half bottle of Aldi Stefanoff vodka beside it. Which is how you'd want your basic vodka to be; light, smooth and with no off taste. I suspect it's rebadged Smirnoff, so no sexy Russian vibes, just an unromantic and very industrial gin distillery in Scotland.

Which will do the job nicely in any case.

EDIT: And I was wrong! Aldi Stefanoff is German made.

There are are a number of German vodka distillers, so it could be any. Bloody hell, what a surprise.

Another Aldi buy along with the cheap but palatable Riesling:

Not sure where the image of the castle is from, but I'm pretty sure it has nothing whatsoever to do with the brewers.

Says 'Brewed in the UK', so could possibly be from the Six Counties, but most probably isn't. Maybe it gets waved in the general direction of Ireland whilst brewing. Still, reviews seem pretty good.

Well Mulligan's is actually pretty decent.

Still don't have a clue who brews it, but the recipe's good. Easily on a par with the other (canned) nitro stouts over here. Not quite up there with a Murphy's or Beamish on the south west Irish coast, but more than good enough for a grey day in dear auld Blighty.

Going against the grain of the thread here, but for several reasons I now only drink very rarely. A nice whisky with loads of ice still hits the spot and the buzz is lush, but I only rarely indulge in that now.

For a few years I went through a phase of having large glasses of a half decent (£6-£8 range) Pinot Grigio with my evening meal, and it really did enhance and compliment the taste of the food by a huge margin. It seemed to go with everything. What a versatile wine! But I'd usually drink at least half the bottle, but often 2/3rds of it, and sometimes all of it.

And then I'd follow up with Whisky Sours after dinner.

But then a huge weight gain, the huge cost, and falling asleep infront of the TV in not a very nice way. Waking up grumpy and irritable rather than deliciously noddy. And then the hangovers of course.

And then when I got diagnosed with ADHD it was strongly advised not to mix the ADHD meds with alcohol.

But alcohol does go fantastic with phenibut and methylphenidate, the experience is very similar to GBL, in terms of musical enhancement, and overall subjective feelings of disinhibition etc, but maybe just a notch or 2 lower on the scale of euphoria.

I've now pretty much stopped buying alcohol, so that I can afford to pay for my adhd meds instead, which is a much better and far more sensible option for my circumstances and brain chemistry, and a no brainer really.

And I find the evenings far more pleasant, sometimes even deliciously relaxing, just nodding in and out, with a combo of Mirtazapine, benzos, CBD oils, and weed. I find it a far nicer option.

I just don't really seem to be wired for alcohol, although a swiftly downed double whisky really gets a nice heavy relaxing and happy heady buzz on. Especially if kept as just as a rare indulgence. It wouldnt work for me if I did it every night.

Yeh it's a joke and has no affect on how much someone who is dependent on alcohol will drink.just places them in a harder financial situation. Considering Scotlands position concerning drug and alcohol deaths you wonder how well Scottish ministers sleep at night.they sleep very soundly because they don't give a fu@#

For my Whisky Sours I'd use McKendricks which is one of the cheaper brands in the UK. You literally cannot taste any extra quality, over the top of the lemon and simple syrup, so i found it pointless and wasteful using expensive quality whiskies for this cocktail. McKendricks was / is perfectly adequate for whisky sours imo.

I generally only have the better whiskies, neat with just ice, when I'm out at a gig, or when I'm away on a break and staying at a hotel etc.

I never take ice in whisky ,I will sometimes add around 5 ml of water just to alter the taste very slightly .my old man gets lots of decent malts at xmas but drowns it in pepsi. Yuck
