What Are You Drinking? v. The Milk Of Human Kindness

Oh Kwik-Save, the memories. The slightly grimy memories.

I'm looking forward to the can of coke that I ordered with my lunchtime takeaway far too much. If it wasn't pissing it down and I wasn't lazy I'm fairly sure I could have got four litres of it for the price I'm paying for the can but still. Coke <3

MARSTON'S OYSTER STOUT. It's fine enough. & Cheap.

Should have buyed more tho' only got a oranjeboom back, so ending up on 10 beers today, different sizes. But thats how it always is when u run out, Sammy knows 4 sure. <3

is that even still considered beer?
i think ive drank week old grapefruit uice that was more fermented

Vile French sauvignon blanc left over from a party I had...knew I should have cracked open that case of prosseco. May just clean the loo out with this sauv and move to plan.B.

Ooo never heard of prossecco. I tend to drink sauvignon blanc with the sole intention of getting drunk - but only when its reduced to a fiver as I point blank refuse to pay a tenner for wine!

With saying all this today is 3 weeks since I touched alcohol.

Prosecco is effectively Italian's equivalent of Spain's -Cava and France's champagne.

It is imo lighter less acidic and more quafable than most Cava's and Champagnes and although they will all vary a decent bottle will cost about a third of a decent respected champagne. Although if someone is buying the Bolly or Veuve I am in.

Umm may venture in to the cellar for another bottle FUCK IT FRIDAY.

Ahhhh.... I don't like champagne. Went to Paris in 1999, to a Champagne factory n it tasted, well just of fizz n bubbles. That's it.

what? champagne is the drink of the gods. well all fizzy alcoholic drink are, IMO. prosecco is indeed a bit better if for nothing else because it is usually cheaper at the same quality, but could be wrong.
im more of a red wine kind of guy.

ughhhhhh champers is minging. Mind you when i was in Paris I did gulp down a whole bottle, along with more alcohol n try to fling myself out the outstairs window! The only thing I regretted was not remember slapping this woman who was a complete BITCH! In fact they all were bar friend who's now dead due to cancer. But smacking that women n forgetting it was gutting. I'm not violent usually but she really deserved a good thrashing!

PS: i was only 19. 15-19 March, 1999!

There's an element of truth to that, but only if you're drinking really gash champagne. The two are totally differnt drinks anyway. The Champagne appellation has such superior terroir to most other regions that once you get past the ~£40 a bottle mark then most other regions will struggle to compete just because of the inferior terroir.

Strangely enough the south coast areas of Britain, Sussex in particular produce some of the best sparkling wines in the world these days because the terroir is essentially the same as in Champagne. This wine from sussex has been knocking it out of the park in international tastings recently, and it's superb:

Pitched around the same price as your Lanson (£30-35) and you will struggle to match or beat it until you go up to the £45-50 range (Veuve-Clicquot, Bollinger, Pol Roger...). There's also strong competition around the £30 mark from the likes of Cloudy Bay Pelorous.

Anyway, back on topic I'm drinking this delicious riesling:
