What Are You Drinking? v. The Milk Of Human Kindness

The burger place we are going to isn't a fast food joint, it's proper homemade burgers and there are other things on the menu. It's a bar and the burgers are pretty damn good and absolutely huge, they do 2 for 1 midweek as well - so that will be a wee bonus for me since I'll do the gentlemanly thing and pay the bill.

Just to be clear, I'm in Glasgow just now, not Spain...

Too early for Mulled Wine, late enough for lager.

I'd reverse that sentiment myself but I can't be arsed to make mulled wine, so I'm drinking Fosters. I ain't drunk the stuff in years cos I'm just not into it but honestly now I don't seem to be able to drink lager without getting heartburn and an instant hangover this stuff goes down really well and I must have downed maybe six or seven last night in the space of a few hours with no ill effect. Sooooo it's really good on the very rare occasion I want to get drunk and not just drink, turns out.

We have a whole damn load of Christmas booze, think it'll last us a lot longer this year although my partner has already killed most of her bottle of Grey Goose. I've been good, was good all week actually and didn't drink much bar the first day at the Xmas Market. Got a bottle of Tanqueray No 10 but want some decent tonic to go with so have only had one or two out of it.

Jack Daniels honey unfortunately. It will do for now :\

Evey

I had never heard of that before, can't even recall seeing it for sale.

Turmeric tea %)

Fresh Turmeric ? I've never tried it in tea, normally only use it for cooking or when I'm being healthy as a drink in the morning with cayenne.

At the moment I like spicy tea (cloves, cardamon, star anise, fennel, cinnamon, black pepper, ginger) boil those for a few minutes remove from heat then add tealeaves (Ceylon) leave a few minutes add honey and soymilk <3.

JD Honey is lovely, Bear. I'm not a big whiskey or JD fan in general but will happily and very easily drink a bottle of it neat if I don't watch myself! Had some last night actually, I reckon it'd be nice in coffee, might give it a try at the weekend.

Thanks Snolly, I'm not a fan of whiskey or JD either so that is probably why I've never seen it when I'm shopping. I've just checked and the liquor store has it in but it's about 45£ a bottle (same as JD) so I'll wait until I'm travelling and get some duty free. Don't fancy paying that in case I don't like it (not that it would go to waste :D).

I really like brandy in coffee especially if you melt some dark chocolate in there also :) (did you get yourself a coffee maker ?)

I didn't but that could be a candidate for my Amazon voucher! Not tried brandy in coffee, never tried brandy much in general actually. Definitely couldn't tell you what it tastes like. Dark chocolate is always a winner, though.

Not sure I could stomach JD with or without the honey - is it not awfully sweet? I like my drinks, dry, bitter and sour :D

Hence the red wine and G&T. A nice single malt is lovely but you're talking 1 or 2 otherwise I'm blotto.

Cognac is lovely Snolly, its worth trying before brandy <3

Having a tall G&T with slices of lemon and ice here.

It's got a kind of pecan-y taste to it, is the best I can describe. It is sweet but not in a cloying way, I can't drink really sweet stuff. I don't drink JD honey often, mind, but a bottle appears every few months or so.

I think I've had Cognac actually, Evad had a bottle of Hennessey or something years ago that I had a wee bit of. Can't beat a G&T though, pretty much all I drink now. Sometimes have it with lime, soda water, and syrup if I can be arsed but that's a rare occurrence. What gin ya got?

Tonight will be cocaine and cocktails. Happy New year everyone
