What Are You Drinking? v. The Milk Of Human Kindness

Wine. White for the first time in ages. Had to be wine as I just managed to get 7 decent bottles from Sainsburys for the grand total of... £13.37. Before discounts it would have cost me £49.50 apparently. Think those bitches will regret being so generous with their special offers in future.

Even having to carry the fucking things for a mile didn't dent my feeling of smugness. My arms hurt now though. Nothing more wine can't cure right? ;)

Please provide me with details of said deal (or waas it a local thing?)

Currently drinking these weird mini-beers. One unit per bottle. £3.50 for ten. 35p a unit. Thought it might be a good way to limit alcohol consumption since am necking etiz with them and don't want to be too fucked for this thing at 7 I really want to go to. Not really working though as I am simply consuming both at a faster rate.

Err it was:

3 bottles for £12 (x2) (from a limited selection ofc but one of them was 13.5% so worth having)
1 bottle @ £4.50
25% discount for 6 bottles or more plus
£3 off voucher for spending over £20 plus
£5 worth of nectar points :P

SO if you see, the random extra bottle was because you have to spend over £20 AFTER the 25% off to use the £3 off voucher. If you don't have the voucher or shitloads of nectar points to use up it would've been £8 more obviously but still good anyway. And it's a Sainsburys thing, not just local, pretty sure you can get it anywhere.

Nice one, you're my kind of girl :) Very moneysaving. I missed that trick with no sainsbo or nectar here duh 8) I <3 frugality - smack that consumerism butt =D

I'm drinking mango & orange squash. Today is a no wine day :(

Yes, many thanks, will head to big Sainsbury's tomorrrow to take full advantage of the 25% off six bottles or more. Remember Tesco used to do a similar thing but on eight bottles. This whole supermarket price war affair is really benefiting us hard-working families ;)

Some people find Red Label too harsh. I don't. Course, it's no Black Label, Blue Label (etc.), but it's better than a lot of comparably-priced blends.

No real booze for me tonight. Just Guinness. Not booze.

I've only ever had Red Label (on recommendation from our resident whisky expert who seems to have since disappeared) and I was pleasantly surprised. Actually reminds me somewhat of halfway decent Islays (yes I do realise how much of a slap I'll get for the mere suggestion from some :o). Mainly in terms of the peaty flavour that you just don't get with most blended whiskys. It's going down well anyway.

And I agree, Guinness really doesn't count as bood. Closer to liquid food if anything.

Most premium blends are far more palatable than 70% of the single malts which have flooded the market in the last fifteen years. Scotch is a fuckin' racket. Most of the available 'single malts' are blended from different casks anyhow, and 95% of production still goes into blends; i.e. these whiskies are meant for blending.

Okay, I can appreciate that some people like an 'exotic' wee dram, but I'm going to drink the fucking bottle, so it better not start tasting like shit halfway down.

Really strong coffee with about a quarter of a bottle of cinnamon Smirnoff in. It's still as good as proper stims and booze... kind of... if you use your imagination.

I thought you were still chained to a radiator being sexually fluffed? :D

Nice bottle of Merlot from South Africa here. Here comes red wine lips and teeth :|

Unfortunately not, I have been back at my mother's since Sunday (for the first time in 3 months) so am sitting in my room sulking and drinking. Gotta love being around family... right? (no) I've had a glass of red wine too... and a few white. Helps me sleep and that 8)

How long do you have to endure before getting back to freedom?

Does she not nag you about the booze, or is she just happy your not fucked off your face on drugs at her house? Being a parent is crap btw. I have 2 grown sons, older than you and as a druggy mum, even I was horrified by some of their antics. So glad they have their own flats and lives now...*phew* Being a mum of an adult is hard work :\

Absolut Raspberri. Not normally one for spirits-based hair of the dog but this shit goes down better than even I do

Jameson Select Reserve. A fucking lovely drop.

Spent all of two hours in work, then got sent home. A toot, a spliff and swigs from the bottle. If there's more to life than this, then fuck it. I'm afraid I'm not interested.

Only just saw this. I'm getting a small break from family next Tuesday till Saturday evening as I have abandoned them in favour of seeing someone much more exciting ;) Then I'm going back to uni a week after that. So not too bad. Not that I'm particularly looking forward to going back to uni as it is, more freedom (to take drugs) which is nice of course but it's worse in other ways. Ah well.

As for the drinking, she doesn't notice quite how much I drink because 1) huge alcohol tolerance means I never seem pissed unless I drink a lot (more than I would drink at home on a normal night) 2) I do all the cooking so I polish off a few glasses of wine while I'm alone and unnoticed in the kitchen and 3) I have my own booze which I drink in my room sometimes as well so again doesnt notice that either.

Wish my mum had been a bit more of a druggy. I'm looking forward to being a parent, think all the experience with drugs and stuff will actually help in the later stages. I know my mum did a bit of stuff so I thought she might be a bit more understanding of things like that but she still freaked out a surprising amount when she found all that stuff in my room. I guess until that point I had been a pretty perfect child and it must have been a shock obviously but still. She must have been REALLY going through my stuff to find it at all so that's a bit off at my age as it is. I wouldnt look through my 20 year old child's stuff unless I had a very good reason to suspect something was wrong (and she didn't).

Haha, excellent, I was thinking of buying some of that. Hope it's still on offer in Sainsburys, sure it was the other day.

I'm drinking my cinnamon vodka and lemonade still, this stuff is pretty nice. Yeah it's half 2 on a Wednesday, so? It is Christmas after all ;)

Different choice of poisons, but I echo that last sentiment. ;)

What parent wouldn't freak out a surprising amount after finding what she found in your room lol. Wether they've done a bit of stuff or not. I'd go ape shit if i found needles stashed away in my childs room. I dont know any parent that wouldnt
