What are you drinking? - "Someone is bringing you ice?"

I think of vodka as being something you drink when you're younger and have an unsophisticated palate and haven't gotten round to drinking decent drinks yet. Vodka and coke was the drink of choice for me and all my mates when we were younger and didn't actually like the taste of booze.

I use vodka for my offcial summer drink:

Take strawberries, wash them and then put them in a food grinder so they become a paste.

Add blackberries, blueberries and grind them too. Then add ice in the grinde too.

To the mixture I usually add brown sugar, a hint of lime and some store bought strwaberry juice just to make it more liquid. Then obviously copious amounts of vodka. I usually make pitchers of this stuff that I leave in the fridge, it gets you mighty drunk.

I really don't care what brand I drink for the purpose of simply getting drunk. I can only drink a few brands neat / straight / sic - and I find that paying the extra for them (on the off chance I want a neat drink) simply isn't worth it. I can't stand 'Grey Goose' as it has such a strong taste it sort of spoils everything I have it mixed with (and neat is just horrible). I can drink 'Absolute' neat over ice but it's not something you can sip on so you end up very drunk and very quick.

I actually enjoy the chemically taste of vodka - but often top my drink up with something like Tequila or Cointreau to add a different taste.

Add a dash of white rum and you have the perfect Daiquiri :) !

About to crack open a bottle of this...

EDIT:
A tasty beer, nice and malty without being over powering.
