What are you drinking? - "Someone is bringing you ice?"

I've been filtering sloe & damson gin I made last november and drinking purely for quality contral as I go. Easy to forget its neat gin. I didn't make any this year as I cant afford the gin but thats 8 stress free xmas presents sorted for £56 so Im happy with that. Smugface.

On the rum and coke. Finished off my Havana 7 tonight, poured myself a Bacardi and coke now. I need to get a grip with the booze, drinking too much recently and I actually got all sad when the bottle of rum was finished. Still got a bottle of Cachaça to drink though so can't see me packing it in any time soon. :\

That's funny I bought a bottle last night... this thread must be unconsciously triggering me.

Is coke the only decent mixer to go with rum? I like coke but I prefer to keep it out of my booze. Is there not something more grown-up?

I tried straight rum but it wasn't happening. OJ allowed me to finish my glass buy I'm not going to pour that drink again if there's an alternative.

EDIT I think I'm going to go for soda with fresh mint and lime, on ice.

I usuall drink rum with coke but with Havana 7 you can drink in neat or on the rocks no bother, it's very smooth and tasty. I was drinking it with OJ last week when the coke ran out and it wasn't too bad but wouldn't make a habit. How's the soda, mint and lime combo? Sounds quite refreshing, kinda like a mojito I guess?

Think I'll make some caipirinhas at the weekend.

Not even midnight and I've got no more than a mouthful of wine left! :|

Got a bottle of cachaça but nothing to mix it with except fresh lemon, no ice or anything. Was drinking red wine earlier that was 'summer red wine' and was to be chilled before drinking, was actually pretty good. Anyone else tried cold red wine before?

Aye, some reds are meant to be served chilled. Although I think part of that is making the best of failed wine... there's always less flavour/aroma about a cold drink because there are fewer aromatic particles making it up your nose.

It's the first time I've ever seen a red wine that tells you to chill it. In Latin America some people stick their red wine on ice just to cool it down a bit from the sun or because room temp over there can be quite warm but they tend to take it out before it gets cold.

going to make a cup of tea and get a bottle of water, constantly running out of water in middle of the night.

Would like something to eat, theres fuck all readily edible apart from some rice crispies, in fact yes i shall have some
