What Are You Drinking? Four of your 'finest' purple tins, s'il vous plait

What kind of man drinks sloe gin? I mean, really?

I'd take Babycham over that shite.

Spadey's quite fond of the Babycham stuff too I think. Loadsa folk are now perry has gone kinda mainstream. Even bought a 3l bottle of perry meself t'other week cos it was dirt cheap. Not bad really - same strength as decent non-white cider but way less acidic. Tis pretty feckin' girly as drinks go though :D

As is sloe gin. But sloe gin is lushy so would happily turn boozetranny for a glass or few of a nice sloe gin. Yum <3

But am currently drinking voddy with summer fruit squash and a dash of tonic. Also rather girly. EADD's communal wrist does appear to be somewhat limp tonight on the booze front :D

PS: Is that cider you posted made from cousin Frosty's piss, Cherry? White cider with colouring or actual cider at tramp juice ABV levels? Will have to keep an eye out. White cider doesn't really agree with me (or anybody else) but the combination of cheapness and high percentage does make cheap, strong cider a tempting prospect sometimes...

I haven't drank pear cider for years, too sweet and sickly. Westons do a nice 8 or 9% one though, good for a bottle or two at most.

Apparently it's only brewed in Somerset. It's not white cider with coloring, it says it has sweeteners and preservatives. That's pretty much all it says on the bottle. I can't drink white cider, at all. I get heartburn if I cane the normal cider too long, so have to take breaks.

It's not actually that horrid.

I've had it before when I was living in Weston-Super-Mare....so it gets about :)

drinking a btl of Cathedral quarter = a red ale brewed in belfast.
not bad i must say.

last nite had a few cans of Murphys draught stout.i reckon it is as good if not better than a can of Guinness.

Indeed. Cosmopolitan I'd say. By cider standards anyway. If I'm ever in Weston-Super-Mare...

Incidentally, is that town named after Simon Weston's meltyface? I imagine that would've been a super-mare at the time.

Apparently...

The name Weston is made up of two Old English or Saxon words meaning the west tun or settlement. Because there are several places called Weston in Somerset descriptions were added to tell them apart. What is unusual about Weston-super-Mare is that the descriptive part of its name has remained in medieval Latin. Super (with small s) means on or above, and mare is Latin for sea.

I did enjoy living there (even if it was under difficult circumstances = hostel), i was able to have early walks on the beach, (avoiding the sinking sand).

I'd like to go back and see the pier re-opened. As they were still behind schedule and working on it when I was there.

Poor donkeys though.

^ Suppose that does make more sense than the Simon Hypothesis. Thanks for the edification and poor donkeys indeed. To be fair though, it's hard to define donkey wealth.

I always liked Murphy's too. I'd happily drink that or Guinness. Or any decent stout really - Guinness definitely ain't the Gold Standard or owt. Just the best known. Tis nice though.

@ Shambles the last few months i have being drinking a few different stouts.guinness would not make the top 3.
Dungarvan brewery have a brillant stout called Black rock.
Carlow brewing co have 3 different types the 1st called O HARAS.the 2nd is called Leann Foalin and the 3rd they brew for M&S.
Aldi over here are selling a stout called O SHEAS also brewed in carlow.
there would be 3 or 4 other stouts brewd in ireland by little micro breweries who also do a great range of tasty ales.

plenty of goodies over here = check out pillreports lol.about 99.98% of the pubs sell guinness-budweiser-heineken etc.you have to look hard for the good pubs.
so why are you coming over.

all i ask for is 2 days notice.
going to open a btl of cheshire chocolate stout.brewed in Stockport in the unicorn brewery.
is that where our treacle comes from.

Well you can't afford food if you've spent all your pennies on cider. ;) :p

I wish I had some money for cider right now, could murder a nice bottle or 3 of Westons.
